The argument essay is a genre of writing that requires the student to investigate a topic; collect, generate, and evaluate evidence; and establish a position on the topic in a concise manner.

1. Read “The Argument Esssay,” accessible through this Links .or the ENC 0017/0027Library Subject Guide (Terranova).
2. Write your essay based on the topics listed below or choose a topic of your own. Remember to review last week’s PowerPoint on the Argument Essay Writing.
3. Attach your completed essay here. Your essay must be 5-7 paragraphs in length and in MLA format. As the final essay of the course, this essay will hold the heaviest weight at 50 points.
