You are required to read and prepare a book report on the
book THE GOAL by Eliyahu M.
Goldratt and Jeff Cox. The report must be a minimum of five (5) pages,
following the APA format for papers. In
the report you will need to answer at a minimum
the following issues in your report.

What
is the Goal?
Comment
on Alex’s personnel life, both with his family, and his relationship with
his staff, his peers, and his superiors.
What
triggered his understanding of his plant’s dilemma?
Did
the plant Controller act ethically, when he adjusted the figures?
What
is the significance of throughput? What does the ending inventory play in
this evaluation?
How
does Jonah, force Alex to “think outside the box” to solve his plant’s
problems?
Highlight
the challenges Alex faces in being promoted to Division Manager?
Provide
a separate listing of the management theories and techniques; we have
covered in class and in the text book that Alex and his staff used in
improving the plant’s performance. List each technique and theory separately,
and how the plant applied it.
