You will need to identify ONE journal article in any area of psychology that interests you from one of
the scientific journals below. Click on the links to explore the available articles. You can select any
article, as long as it has a Method section within it. (Articles without the Method section are review
articles and would not be appropriate for this assignment).

Once you have identified the article you will need to summarize it, in particular the Introduction, the
Method, and the Discussion sections. You will also need to write the appropriate title page and reference
for the article.
The written assignment should contain the following sections, and you should write the name of each
section where it begins, except for the title page:
Title page, Introduction, Method, Discussion, References
The length should be a total of 4 pages, double spaced, written in 12 points font with 1” margins.
Page 1: Title page (with your own title, name, and school affiliation).
Page 2 and 3: Introduction, Method and Discussion.
Page 4: Reference (you should have only one reference, the article you are summarizing).
Use the Paper Checklist as a guide to complete the assignment.
I will be using the Psychology Paper Rubric to grade your assignment.
This paper must use APA (American Psychological Association) FORMAT. The following link
provides an example of a paper using the APA style format, as well as descriptions of what the different
sections of the paper should contain. Here is a link to an APA sample paper. Use the example as a guide
to write your paper. It is also a very good idea to visit the writing center to ensure that your summary is
properly formatted.

etc.
To receive FULL CREDIT you must meet the following criteria:
a. The summary should be exactly 2 pages, excluding title page and reference page.
b. APA style (double space, times new roman 12-font, 1” margin, etc.)
c. Spelling, grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, etc. must be perfect. (Have
someone, a few people, proofread your paper.)
d. The paper must contain the following sections: Title page, Introduction, Method,
Discussion, References. (You do not need the Abstract).
e. Clear and demonstrated understanding of the chosen article.
