This week we process “The Women’s Hotline Case ” (Folger, Poole and Stutman, 2018) based upon this week’s assigned materials. Note that some exercises and case studies may trigger emotions. Please be sensitive to hot button themes in discussions, and let the instructor know if any disclosures or exercises are sensitive for you via email or by phone. Make a good faith effort to participate fully and complete assignments while allowing yourself to “pass” on select questions that you are not ready to discuss online for personal reasons.
After reading Case Study 1.1A and 1.1B and considering case study questions provided by the authors, write a clean, well-supported essay that synthesizes weekly learning objectives and case study question prompts. Essays should draw from and cite weekly course materials including lectures, assigned materials and relevant outside resources. Do not answer questions as bulleted short sentences. Frame your answer in a way that orients the reader to the case, unfolds in well supported paragraphs and makes smooth transitions between key concepts. Conclude your analysis about The Women’s Hotline Case with thoughts about what you learned this week and share personal experiences that enhance text and supplemental materials. Submit your work to Drop Box 1.1 by the designated due date.
The point of this assignment is not to simply summarize case studies. Conceptualize and communicate overall weekly themes and learning objectives through a personal lens supported by personal conflict examples, cited and referenced case studies, and assigned and outside resources.
