We have discussed the history of American corrections. We know that there is a racial disparity in the American criminal justice and corrections systems. I would argue that much of what has happened and continues to happen in the American correctional system is a reflection and directly influenced by history and current events.
Based on what you watched in the documentary and the additional reading provided to you in files, you should write a 1-2 page double space standard font response essay. The essay should focus on the link between the documentary and current correctional practices, specifically the link between the information provided by the documentary and present day racial disparities in the criminal justice system. You may use outside source to aide in your writing but you do not have to. If you do use outside sources make sure you cite all sources appropriately.
