Theoretical Model Paper: Each student in the Psy.D. program will write a 3-4 page essay (double-spaced) comparing and contrasting the scientist-practitioner (Boulder) model of training and the practitioner-scientist (Vail) model of training. In the penultimate paragraph, students should describe how the experience of a student in a Psy.D. program (Vail Model) is likely to differ from that of a student in a Ph.D. program (Boulder Model). In the final paragraph, students should describe why they chose to attend a program based on the practitioner-scientist (Vail) model of training and how the model fits in with their current and future goals.
