Social Innovation in Children’s Human Rights At Schools

Your final project for this class will be a research paper on
any aspect of innovation or social innovation that you wish. The assignment is
intentionally broad so as to accommodate students’ diverse interests, as well
as the dramatically reconfigured learning environment in which we find
ourselves this semester. Your paper could be a critical interrogation of a
specific innovation or program; it could be a plan for a project or program; it
could be an analysis of innovation in a specific context. I will ask that
students meet with me at least once for ~15 minutes to discuss paper plans,
about midway through the semester. I encourage PhD students to select a topic
that helps you develop your thinking around a potential dissertation; I
encourage MA students to select a topic that helps you develop your potential
capstone.
Final papers are to be between 17-20 pages, Times New Roman
font, double-spaced and appropriately cited. Please refer to the Anatomy
of a Paper document appended to this syllabus if you need some
guidance on paper structure. You may use any in-text citation format that you
wish, although you are encouraged to use the format of a journal in which you
wish to publish.
