Discuss and the outline of a myth buster paper with the topic can the moon affect mental health?

URPOSE: The purpose of producing an outline is to give you the opportunity to organize your thoughts and combine the
scholarly literature that you’ve collected into a coherent sketch. In addition to this, completing an outline encourages you
to take a vital step toward your project completion in a timely manner so that writing your final paper is less burdensome.
TASK: Your task is to:
(1) Continue to research your chosen myth topic. You should look for information about how prevalent (i.e., how
common) this myth is and why people believe the myth (i.e., what is the evidence for the myth?). Then you
should find a more accurate explanation and investigate the research that “busts” the myth. Identify the empirical
evidence that refutes the myth. All the claims should be supported with appropriate APA, 7th edition format
citations from library sources. You may use a variety of sources, but you must include at least three peerreviewed research articles.
(2) Develop an outline like the example outline below but using your chosen myth topic, the following:
a. A description of the myth
b. Description of the evidence for the prevalence of this myth (How many people believe this? How do we
know? It will be useful to provide examples that demonstrate people still believe this myth.)
c. Present the evidence for this myth (What evidence do people use to justify believing this myth? What is
the origin for the myth? If it is mere observation, anecdote, intuition, or acceptance of a specific
“authority” be sure to indicate this.)
d. Present an alternative hypothesis to explain the evidence (what explanation other than the myth can
account for this evidence?)
e. Present the evidence against the myth (evidence for the alternative hypothesis). You should cite a
minimum of at least three peer-reviewed articles to support this section. This will be the most detailed
and longest section of the final paper! For now, just the basic facts presented in the article are necessary.
You’ll have the opportunity to expand on this in the final paper.
f. Summary: Be sure to include the myth and the fact that should replace it
g. Reference list in proper APA, 7th edition format
(3) Ensure that all components found in the example outline are present and complete in your outline.
(4) Include the references used in the outline and format them correctly according to APA, 7th edition reference style.
These should appear under the References bullet point in your outline.
(5) Format it in standard outline form as demonstrated in the example outline below. You should write your outline in
Word using 12-point Times New Roman with 1” margins, single-spaced. Include your name at the top of the
document then continue to the outline.
(6) Submit your outline by the due date/time (specified in the course schedule) in Bb. You can find the submission
link by going to ASSIGNMENTS | Outline Approval. Upload your document as an attachment. Be sure to click
on Submit.
