Your paper should have a minimum of 4-5 pages, including a reference page.
You may choose from any of the topics covered in this course, but you must choose your experiment from an accredited Psychological Journal. The study you choose must be recent and have been published in the past 10 years. You may not use any study we have discussed in class. You may however, use an older published study as a secondary source to support your opinion.
You are required to follow the outline given, you must label each section of your paper
Your critique will consist of the following sections. You are required to title each section of your paper as follows:
Abstract – Write a brief summary of the study. This should be only 1 paragraph in your own words. (2 Points)
Method/Procedure – Give a description of the instrument (test) & subjects. This section must include how many subjects, a description of the subjects, and a demographic analysis. You must also name and describe the test used and the steps taken to administer the experiment. If you choose a multiple experiments study, you must write a separate Method/Procedure and Results section for each. (4 points)
Results – Explain the results of the research study, without using inference or opinion. (3 points)
4. Opinion – In this section you will tell me your opinion of the study you chose to critique. For example, What do you think of the hypothesis, experiment design, subject pool, or results of the study. You must include a minimum of two additional references to support your opinion. You must show evidence on how you used your additional sources in this section. (3 points)
5. Future Findings – In this section you must answer two questions: (3 points)
What future research do you believe that may stem from the results of this study?
What field(s) of psychology will this study benefit?
5. References – list the author, (date) title. Publisher. vl. pg. in APA format (3 points)
