comments from my teacher: First of all you have to separate your discussion of the Russian and the American school systems. You cannot discuss them together in the same paragraphs. Then, you can ONLY talk about the areas you mention in your thesis. In your topic sentences above, only the first one has anything to do with what you mention in your thesis. So, here is an example of what your topic sentences ( the first sentence in a paragraph must look like to match your thesis sentence) –only I have separated the two topics, which you need to do.
Topic sentence for paragraph 1) The Russian public school system uses very strict teaching methods.
Notice that my topic sentence talks about the Russian system first because the thesis mentions Russian first. Then it must contain the term ‘teaching methods’ because that is your first category.
Topic sentence for paragraph 2) On the other hand, the American public school system is much more relaxed in their teaching methods.
Again, you are following the order established in your thesis. American and teaching methods.
Topic sentence for paragraph 3) The Russian public school system has a very straightforward organization of school processes.
Notice that now the paper is moving on to your second category – organization of school processes.
Topic sentence for paragraph 4) Conversely, the American public school system uses a complex system to organize school processes.
Topic sentence for paragraph 5) The Russian system focuses on offering basic courses.
So, here begins your discussion of your third category – basic courses.
Topic sentence for paragraph 6) Contrary to the Russian system, the American system offers few basic courses.
Again, you are now continuing your discussion of your third category, but for the American system.

As this is a research paper, you must use 3rd person point of view. So, you cannot use first person point of view ( we, I ) or second person point of view ( you, your).
Paragraphs need to begin with a topic sentence that relates directly to your thesis. Do not use headers or abstracts for this paper. I just want a formal essay, uninterrupted by any headings. You will be using MLA format for this paper and you will also use a minimum of 7 academic sources to back up your comparison/contrast. You are not arguing or persuading in this paper, you are showing differences and/ or similarities. Paper length: minimum of 6 full pages, not counting the Works Cited page. Do not go over 8 pages. I want to you use quotes from your sources. You may use one paraphrase as well, but the focus of this paper is using direct quotes as you are using MLA formatting style. You will be using the SAME thesis as you did for your last paper, and you will be using the same content that you already have; however, you will be adding 3 additional research sources to back up your points, so that means you will be adding additional content. Your paper will be longer than your last paper. The organizational style of your paper should remain the same as your last paper. So, if you used block style last time, use block style this time as well. If you used point by point, then use the same. Make sure you use correct transitional expressions to ensure coherence in your paper.
I will download all information I have : my first draft – 6 pages plus my other draft(1,5 pages plus works Cited). You can use info from both of them, but the essay should be structured as you can see at the beginning of my instruction. There are all 7 sources and some additional information you can use for the essay.
