The Joy and Happiness Plan

The purpose of the project PLAN assignment is to make goals related to being successful when the joy and happiness project is implemented. Students will be provided with joy and happiness activities that have been shown to positively impact joy, happiness, and overall well-being. These activities are in the Project Map.
The plan is designed to help students practice the activities consistently, stay focused and motivated for 8 weeks of practices. A SMART goal is one that is Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time Orientated (SMART) and each goal should contain these elements. The SMART goals should be focused on practical ways to ensure your personal success when doing the practices. The project plan is prescriptive so here are the requirements:
The plan can be completed on a Word Document – there is no “correct” format for this – it is a tool for you so it may be a list, a chart, paragraphs etc. Make sure to include all the elements.
To make the plan, do a personal assessment of your own happiness (do the authentic happiness scale quiz and note your score). Also, assess your character strengths (VIA character strengths).
Students will be assigned practice partners during the first few weeks of the course and the partners will come in an email from the teaching assistant. You will need to develop and list 3 SMART goals related to how. you will practice successfully. The goals will focus on how you will complete the activities and stay motivated (not on which activities they will do! These are already set out for you in the Project Map: Simple Activities document). Again…Students are not required to develop activities for the plan– you are required to focus goals on the process of completing the activities. Each student has their unique ways of ensuring things get done on time. Students need to stay focused and motivated for 8 weeks so planning how to do this before practices begin will help when the project is implemented. You will need to state the mark you expect to get in this course and state 2 potential dates for meeting with your practice partner (via Zoom or Google Meet or Facetime). You do not have to meet with your partner prior to handing in the assignment. The best thing to do is to look over the rubric to see how you will be marked and include everything in the rubric in your plan.
