You are tasked with writing a 1-page, double-spaced paper that addresses the following two questions:
1) Does the speed at which life originated on Earth impact your opinion on whether life exists elsewhere in the universe? Why or why not?
2) How could you test the idea that life started soon after the Earth became habitable?
You do not have to answer the first question in purely scientific terms. The second question does not require that you come up with something that can actually be tested. I will be evaluating you on your ability to think and write logically, as well as your ability to find scientific sources to cite (popular science is okay) and connect these ideas to what we’ve discussed in class.
