The assignment for this module is a case study. Please complete your readings, before attempting the questions. The assignment is worth 50 points. You may submit as an attachment.
Case Study
1. Identify a global health issue regarding socioeconomic determinants of interest to you. In one to two paragraphs describe: what the issue is, who does it impact mostly, what are the signs or symptoms of the condition; what social or environmental factors impact this health issue.
2. Link your health issue to one Millennium Development Goal (MDG).
3. In one to two paragraphs, use a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) to provide a recommendation to lower the number of cases of this global health issue.
For example, decreasing the wage gap between women and men. (My paragraph may include a specific group of women such as those between the ages of 18-25, provide a list of signs someone is discriminated due to gender and income, social factor may be based on gender inequality, etc.)
My MDG is to promote gender equality and empower women (3).
My recommendation may include: work with governments to enforce laws regarding women’s pay wage based on SDG 4, 5 and 8. (I would describe what that looks like.)
