Prompt 1. While Gilgamesh, the hero of the story, demonstrates greatness, does he also exhibit moral “goodness”? Explain why or why not. Likewise, are the gods in the story moral role models (“exemplars”)? Should gods be? Is there a moral exemplar to be found in the story or a close approximation? If so, who is it, and why?
Prompt 2. What types of love are shown in the Epic of Gilgamesh, and would you consider any of these to be “true” (and also worth the consequences)? Why or why not? Are there kinds of love not depicted in the story that you would consider to be truer?
