Process Analysis: Explaining How to Complete a Task
After a review of your company’s current training manual, you notice that an important process is missing. Write a section for the manual that explains precisely how an employee should complete a work-related task. For example, if you are operating a service garage, what steps would an employee need to follow in order to safely change engine oil? Or, you are operating a hair salon, what steps would an employee need to follow in order to safely color hair? Or, you are operating a bakery, what steps would an employee need to change a recipe?
Include a title and a thesis statement at the beginning (i.e. “Engine oil can safely be changed in twelve main steps. First of all,”)
Write in paragraph form rather than numbered steps using MLA format. Use transition words and phrases, and make sure all of the steps are provided and are in the correct order. You may need to give definitions for any terms that a new employee may not understand.
Assignment length: 1-2 pages. Points will be deducted if your document is more than 2 pages. (All assignments must be saved as either Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format documents.)
