Write about why access to (or lack of access to) housing is related to racism. As discussed, “Homeownership has proved to be both the doorway and gatekeeper to success and well-being in America. It is at the core of today’s racial wealth gap.” Discuss the significance of this quote by expanding on the explanation you gave in discussion 3 and write about how segregationist housing practices led to the racial wealth gap we see today. Pull evidence from Rothstein and at least one more of the following sources (citing a minimum of two sources from below) and discuss how Black Americans in particular have been affected. You may also compare this to examples of displacement or lack of access to fair housing or racial segregation experienced by other communities of color
