Leadership interview

You can find a masters prepared nurse leader, a nurse manager, a clinical nurse specialist, a nurse supervisor, a Dean. Conduct an interview using the questions I have provided in the announcement section. ( this must be original work and any submission of work submitted before will receive a zero “0” and an “F” for the course. You as the interviewer will pose questions to the interviewee and must place everything they say, their response to your questions in direct quotes, and cite using personal communication ( go to the 7th edition APA manual and look at the two format of personal communication). Personal communication is never placed in the reference section. You must obtain a consent to interview if you use this option. I will create a drop box for the consent.

You will interview (in person, face to face) a leader relevant to the designated specialty role of choice (e.g. Nursing Director, Nursing Professor, Nurse Entrepreneur, or the equivalent in an organization that would hire a BSN prepared nurse in your specialty.

You will incorporate both the assignment-required questions, as well as critically developed questions of your own creation. You may, if permitted, audio-tape/digitally record the interview so that you may progress through the interview in a timely manner and actively participate in the discussion (this is not possible if you are trying to write the conversation down as it occurs). You will need to obtain written permission from this leader prior to the interview. You will conclude the interview with a request for precepting by the interviewee. You must identify the agency’s student orientation requirements and your selected preceptor’s availability during the capstone experience.

The paper will begin with a brief introduction of the leader being interviewed, and will proceed to the questions asked and answers received. Additionally, the paper will need to conclude with a summary of the interview process. This information will address such elements as your critical analysis and evaluation of the interview process, information about your current personal professional status, and resultant plans for your capstone practicum within the selected organization.

The paper will be written in 7th edition APA format. This interview and resultant paper is required to be an individual effort. The paper length requirement is 3 to 5 pages. The paper detailing the content of the interview will need to be submitted through the assignment drop box by due date.
