• Engaging in sustainable practices
• Types and levels of certification for hoteliers
• Considerations for selecting a sustainable certification program
• Technologies for renewable energy in hospitality
A. Written Paper (75 points):
1. Read chapters 19 & 20 carefully.
2. Write a 5-7 page paper (APA format) addressing the following:
a. Provide 2 actual hotel/lodging properties that have adopted some of the identified
best practices outlined in the chapter. You will need to research some outside
sources (secondary sources) to find this information (i.e., magazines, news articles,
scholarly articles, etc…). The University library is a great resource. As always,
APA format requires citations and references as needed.
b. Respond thoughtfully to all the Discussion and Review Questions found at the end
of chapters 19 and 20
