I am looking for someone to edit the first 3 chapters of my dissertation and address the comments the chair has outlined. Is this something you would be able to do? The document is already written. I just needed it edited and fixed according to the comments. The document is approx 100 pages (this includes title page and references) Below are some comments.
I have read chapters one and two. I will read chapter 3 after we have had a chance to talk. The good news is that your approach is now more scholarly. You are no longer advocating or promoting a point of view. Your study is attempting to discover something — voters’ perspectives/perceptions. Yet, it is not clear that you are completely committed to this inquiry. Your definitions list, for example, does not include a definition of ‘perspectives/perceptions.’ Your Lit Review does not discuss scholarship around voters’ perspectives/perceptions. While your research questions focus on voters’ perspectives/perceptions, your theories do not demonstrate how you will uncover these perspectives/perceptions. See my comments (attached). Extensive editing (proofreading) is needed. Let’s schedule a time to talk.
I have now completed my review of chapter 3. While I understand HOW you will conduct your research, more detail is needed. Your research questions should adhere tot the Null Hypothesis model. It appears that you are assuming that voters know about these programs. I seriously doubt that other than the prison administrators and the incarcerated individuals, there is little knowledge in the general population about these programs. Of course, your dissertation could establish that there is little knowledge, but how helpful would that be? Again, I would encourage a more substantive approach 1. What are the perceptions 2. Provide information. 3. Do perceptions change with information?
