Bill of rights is the first 10 amendments of the existing American constitutions, which are centered on the bill of rights. The Bill of Rights protects the civil rights and freedoms of all Americans, including the freedom of speech, the freedom of religion, and the right to be protected from government oppression (Greenberg, 2018). The Bill of Rights is not only contained in the United States Constitution but it is also duplicated in the constitutions of the many state governments throughout the country. This is shown in the instance of the Illinois state constitution, which serves as an illustration. Individual rights are also protected under the third section of the Illinois state constitution, which states that all Americans have the right to practice their religion freely. This is a protection of people’s freedom to choose to enjoy any religion and to participate in any religion’s activities without being subjected to discrimination or harassment. The state of Illinois conforms to the Bill of Rights in the United Says Constitution, which states that all Americans are free to worship in any denomination of their choosing. It is also noted in this third part of the Illinois State Constitution that everyone in the state has civil and political freedom to exercise their choice of religion and political views. According to the Constitution’s Bill of Rights, this clause is included in the First Amendment. The fourth part protects people’s right to freedom of expression and expression. In the Illinois state constitution, people are granted the right to openly express their thoughts and beliefs without fear of reprisal. This is a reproduction of the First Amendment to the United Says Constitution, which states that individuals have the right to express their honest thoughts and views via speech or the media without fear of persecution. These parts of the Illinois State Constitution demonstrate that the Bill of Rights is not only included with the United States Constitution but is also included with state constitutions such as the Illinois State Constitution (Douma, 2017).
