Progamming on the fly

You have a female, middle-aged client that has been training with you for the past 6 months. You have an hour long workout planned for her today, but she just texted you saying that she now will only have 30 minutes to train due to an unexpected work meeting. Now it is time to think creatively on the fly. Your goal is to create for her a 30 minute session that includes the following components: warm-up, full body resistance training with the goal of strength and endurance, core, and balance training. The client will complete her cardio at home and perform the cool-down/stretching on her own after the session.

In your post, list in detail the training session you have created with appropriate sets/reps/work durations/etc that are needed. This might change based on the type of exercise (for example: you could perform 3 sets of 8 repetition of push-ups or you could hold a certain position for 30 seconds to work on balance or core stability). Make sure you include the components listed above (warm-up, full body resistance training with the goal of strength and endurance, core, and balance training). Hint: To work more efficiently, you could combine two or more of the goals into one exercise…this is just to get you thinking and is not mandatory).

After you create the workout, choose 3 of the exercises in your training session and list them below the written workout. Beside each exercise, list 2 or 3 coaching cues that you might use to help the client perform the exercise/movement correctly.

Bring your completed assignment to class as we will be using it to complete the lab portion of the assignment. This assignment is worth 10 points. You do not need to reply to a classmate’s post.
