According to bell hooks how does critical thinking function to help foster personal or societal liberation?

INTRO: In popular American society, education is often considered universally good for you. It is almost never considered bad. Everyone from your parents to important leaders say “Get your education, and you will do well.” However, bell hooks seems to argue for a more political view of education. They view it as a tool that can be used for enslavement or empowerment, a social system that helps builds conformity for the status quo or decolonization and liberation for a new consciousness and a new society. For them, it all comes down to whether educators are teaching critical thinking or not.

Your analysis essay must:
Demonstrate an insightful way of answering the question using the tools of critical thinking we have developed in this unit.
Focus more on analysis with only minimal use of summary (imagine your audience has already read hooks and Duncan-Andrade) and has already engaged in discussion). They need your unique analysis; not a summary of their arguments.
Is relatively free from distracting grammatical and mechanical errors (Links to an external site.). Many students use Grammarly (Links to an external site.) to help them.
Use MLA document design and citation.
