INSTRUCTIONS:
You will read chapter 8 of Essential Linguistics: What Teachers Need to Know to Teach ESL, Reading, Spelling, and Grammar, (2nd edition) by Freeman and Freeman (2014) and write a one-page, double-spaced chapter summary on it. The text of the summary should focus on the chapter’s topic: Implications from morphology for teaching a second language and teaching reading.

**You can use each paragraph topic to guide you–they are bolded in black. The very last two pages of the chapter also include a summary, which can help you.

Please use the following format for all typed work:
1. Use 12 pt. font;
2. Double-space;
3. Use Times New Roman ONLY;
4. Include the NAME, date, and title of assignment on all work;
5. Use APA 7 formatting;
6. Do not exceed the one page limit!
