Research Project & Presentation:
In this assignment, students will consider how social workers can use research, particularly evidence-based interventions, to address a topic for a population of their choosing. They will have the option of working with a course colleague or individually.
Each student/duo will present their information to the class for 10-15 minutes, followed by Q & A.
Presenters will create and distribute an evaluation tool which their course colleagues will complete.
Students will consider how to communicate research to their selected population and practice that communication. (Course Objectives 1, 2, 3, 4, 6; Competencies, 1, 3, 4, 7).
Following the presentation, students will analyze the evaluation tool and feedback received. (Course Objectives 3, 4; Competency 7).

Roles and Values of Social Workers: What is the role of social workers in this topic? What are the relevant social work values? Why should social workers be involved?
Population Definition: Clearly define
Overview: Clearly define the population? Why did you select this population?
Historical Overview:
Micro, Mezzo, and Macro: What is the significance and relevance of this population to the topic? What are the impacts to the specific population at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels? How has this changed over time?

Where: Where is the greatest need? What geographic location will benefit from intervention?
Why: How do social workers chart a path? Are extra credentials required? What are our next steps?
What is the answer to your research question? Summarize your findings.
References/Bibliography: An APA formatted reference page is required to be included in the presentation. Use foot notes as indicators within your presentation.
