The vaping frenzy has become a popular topic and concern amongst the public, especially for legislators, health professionals, and epidemiologists. In 2019, North Carolina filed a lawsuit against Jull, Inc. (Juul) (link) alleging that the company targeted minors through advertising and failed to give warnings about related health risks. This was followed by a similar suit by the State of California (Link). Currently, there are over 2000 lawsuits pending in California alone against Juul.
Please examine these lawsuit as well as similar lawsuits filed against Juul and discuss the ethical issues Juul’s business practices present.
General Instructions:
Your paper must be at least three (3) pages long (double-spaced and written in 12-point Times Roman font with one-inch margins).
Your paper must analyze and discuss Juul, Inc.’s business practices, utilizing the principles found in Week 1 – Chapter 3 (Business Ethics).
Provide a synopsis of the lawsuit, share updated legal action taken regarding Juul’s business practices, analyze and identify the point(s) of contention, and state whether or not you believe Juul’s business practices are ethical and explain why.
