You will write a 2-3 (of text) Research Paper on a chosen topic dealing with American History from the year 1878 through present day. The topic possibilities are broad, you may write about a person, event, war, political party, ext. If you have a question about if you can write on a topic, simply ask me and I will let you know. Your research paper must have a title page, 2-3 pages of text, and a resource page.

Note: The final paper must be based on research that you complete on your own. Generally speaking, you must have a minimum of 1 primary source (such as letters, newspaper articles from the period, books published in the period, government reports, etc.). You must also have at least 2 academic secondary sources (scholarly articles and books). Encyclopedia entries and general information web sites do not count as academic sources. You must footnote all material and provide a title page and bibliography page. Turabian style, double-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font, and 1-inch margins must be used.
