You will consider the importance of listening to the voice of individuals with SEND. You will examine how autobiographical accounts are drawn from personal, subjective experiences which give an insight into lived experiences. Through Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) as an approach to qualitative research, you will demonstrate how it can help practitioners and researchers understand individual experiences.
This coursework assesses learning outcomes:
(LO1) Compare the lived experience of two individuals living with SEND.
(LO2) Use a double hermeneutic process to critically interpret the lived experience of an individual with SEND.
The second part will be based on three themes from both books.
The book to be used is My Dyslexia by Philip Schultz and Dyslexia & Bullying:My life by John French-Auger.
