The literature review research paper is an individually written paper that explores a problem statement and relates scientific evidence to clinical practice issues. It explores the current scientific and/or scholarly knowledge of a topic. After conducting a search of appropriate databases, the student must read, evaluate, and analyze the data, identify current themes, identify weaknesses or gaps in the research, and present material in support of or against the original thesis statement in 3-5 written pages. Submit the final written literature review research paper with abstract and reference pages.

Oral Cavity Effects on E-cigarettes and Vaping
E‑cigarettes are widely available, and their use is increasing worldwide. ENDS(electronic nicotine delivery systems) producer companies claim that these products can improve oral health by providing alternatives to smoking. According to the first human study on the effects of e-cigarette exposure in the oral cavity, by interrogating both immunoinflammatory responses and microbial functional dynamics, discovered pathogen overrepresentation, higher virulence signatures, and a brisk proinflammatory signal in clinically healthy e-cigarette users, equivalent to patients with severe periodontitis. It is important that dental professionals are made aware of the potential problems related to vaping.
