Types of Membrane Transport Discussion

For this discussion, you will pick one of the sections below to complete and post for your original discussion. Be sure that you are putting the information into your own words. It should not be copied from the textbook or any other source.
You will read a post by another student on at least two of the other sections. You will need to make a meaningful response to that student’s post. If there is an error in their post, indicate it. Types of Diffusion

You will read about various types of diffusion involving the movement of solutes across the plasma membrane. You will need to read pages 72-73 in your textbook. You will be addressing diffusion and facilitated diffusion. You need to become the “expert” on these forms of diffusion. You will write a discussion post in your own words (cannot be copied from the text) that includes at least the following:
Define diffusion.
Distinguish between diffusion (simple diffusion) and facilitated diffusion.
What kind of a concentration gradient is needed for diffusion to occur?
Is energy from the cell required?
Is a transport protein required?
