Basic Requirements

Delivery:
The speech should run 5-7 minutes. For this speech your delivery will count for
a considerable amount of your grade. The highest a read speech can get is a C. Rehearse
your speech. focus specifically on rate, volume, stance, verbal fillers,
gestures, and posture. Extemporaneous delivery is key.

Argumentation/Supporting
Material:
o
Credibility and usage will count towards your
grade
o
Arguments should be presented in an articulate
manner and be well supported by research.
o Sources: The speech should have a total of 5 sources.
§ 3 should be orally
cited/available in the TCC databases
§ .com websites will
not count towards your required sources.
§ variety of
evidence (statistics, examples, testimony, etc.)

Outlining/Note
cards: Use note cards, no paper. Key words, oral cites, and quotations are allowed.
Use a persuasive organizational pattern.

Visual
Aid: Power point/ Prezi etc… usage
is optional for this speech.
Paperwork
Requirements
Paperwork should be uploaded via
blackboard by the deadline. No revisions allowed.

Outline: This should be
in complete sentences. Any speech presented without an outline will be given a
zero.
·
Works Cited: It should
contain at least 5 sources in MLA.
·
Research: For all the research upload the 1st
page only and turn it in. Since there is a 5-source minimum everyone should
have a least 5 screen shots.
