Case study:

You are leading a team of eight (8) employees at the Treasury Board Secretariat. Your team works on policy files and does not directly interact with the public. When you started, you were advised that everyone in the department would be returning to the office two (2) to three
(3) days a week. Attached, you will find a document providing you with additional context in relation to the department’s approach as it relates to the return to work (Hybrid – Managers Toolkit).
Your team has been working effectively remotely on a full-time basis for the past three (3) years and members have started to raise several issues about the return to the office. Many employees are excited about the return to the office while others (including individuals at the executive level) are quite vocal and have stated categorically that they do not want to go into the building for the following reasons:
– Personal health concerns;
– Lack of childcare services;
– Transit/commuting/parking;
– People do not see the value of going into the office when they can do their job just fine from home;
– Rumors that the workspace is not set-up properly and the booking tool to reserve our office space does not work well; and
– Some emplovees (for various reasons) are now located outside the NCR Ottawa/Gatineau).
Your supervisor, the head of the division, has asked you to provide a concise document advising them on how to address these concerns and support the move to a hybrid work environment.

In a concise document*, please provide your immediate supervisor with advice and guidance on how to address the concerns stated above and move towards a successful hybrid work environment. Please indicate the key issues and considerations as part of your advice.
*The document can be provided in the format of your choice. It needs to be between one (1) to two (2) pages, single spaced using the Arial font, font size 12.
