This will be an expansion of my literature review I have already typed about Cognitive Dissonance. I only need 4-5 extra pages. I have 10 sources already but I need 5 additional ones. Also, try to incorporate the sources I already have into the analysis. The question you will answer using a rhetorical event will be:
• How does social media play a roll in cognitive dissonance?
• How might cognitive dissonance affect a relationship?
You will complete your analysis of a communication event using the theory you wrote about in your literature review (Cognitive Dissonance). In the analysis paper, you will (1) briefly describe the communicative/rhetorical event (i.e., contextualize your analysis) and (2) analyze the communication occurring within that event using your selected theory.
You will organize your paper into three sections:
I. Revised Literature Review
I. Application of the Theory to the Event
III. Evaluation of Communication Choices Made within the Event
You should write 10-12 pages (not including reference pages) of typed and double-spaced with 1″ margins, no 8-point spaces between paragraphs, 12-point Times New Roman font. Use APA (7th edition) style for the paper format, in-text citations, and references. You should incorporate the articles from your literature review (minimum of 10) and five additional sources. These five additional sources should be either reputable journalism sources or academic journal articles describing and contextualizing the communicative/rhetorical event that you’re analyzing.
(1) Sketch out the main arguments within the theory you’ve chosen. Using those arguments/ideas,
begin to analyze the communication event you have chosen. How are you seeing that theory
emerging in that event? What is the theory telling you about the event?
(2) Identify the top three things that the theory has shown you about the communication event.
These will be your main points in your paper.
(3) Start writing your paper. Your application of the theory to the event should contain
contextualize the event you’ve chosen (provide a description that is richly researched – you may
use journalism sources for this section) followed by an analysis of the event. After analyzing the
event, please offer implications (evaluate the communication choices made within the event and
suggest what you think those observations mean for scholars and for others impacted by the
event.
