earlier in the course, we discussed Kerckhoffs’s principle and how it applies
to cryptography. Explain this principle
and how it applies to modern crypto systems.
What makes a crypto system secure?

3. We also described deprecating older
ciphers as a potential security vulnerability.
Using the Logjam attack, explain how it worked and why need to deprecate
older, weaker ciphers.

4. In Chapter
11, we discussed hashing. Define what
hashing is and how it related to what we’ve covered in this class? Is it the same as encryption? If so, why?
And if not, why not? Also what
protocol for hashing would you recommend.
Include in your answer what part(s) of CIA triad does it provide.

5. From a digital certificate management
perspective, we discussed two forms of authenticating certificates and whether
or not they’ve been revoked. What are
those two forms of digital certification verification and how are they similar
and/or different.

6. In Chapter
13, we reviewed the key distribution problem with symmetric keys. Explain what the fundamental issue for
symmetric key distribution is.
Illustrate your answer based on the number of people there are in
Congress – 535 combined between the House and the Senate.

7. Describe how the TLS Handshake
works. Use the videos from Week 7 as the
basis for your answer.
