Anthropology topic: Sexual relations outline for Essay
Outline expectations:
• you should be able to tell me precisely what your topic is. That means to state concisely what it is that you are trying to learn about a subject. What questions are you interested in asking and answering in order to satisfy your curiosity? What hypotheses are you considering if your topic is descriptive or analytical? What controversies are you exploring if your paper is “argumentative”?
• you should be able to identify some basic sources of information about the topic. You should probably include a brief statement of where you plan to go to find the information you need. Every one of the topics is discussed in hundreds, if not thousands of publications — books, professional journals, government documents, or even the popular press.
• where possible, you might outline the line of inquiry you intend to pursue, perhaps offering an explanatory model you wish to test or possibly one or more accounts by leading (or contrarian) theorists or researchers who have explored the topic before. In facr, a paper that would in effect a comprehensive “literature review” leading to a summary and assessment of the state of current knowledge would be one way of handing the assignment. Another could be to compare and contrast two or more theorists who have come to different conclusions about the subject at hand.
Or, you could do then obvious and find a guide to writing a term paper. There are hundreds of them on the internet. Read what people in the field are saying and adapt it to your own needs.
