There is a common theme of taking people’s work as one’s own. Unfortunately, when it comes to music, the damage may be far heavier than simple plagiarism . People from around the world have had their cultural identities stolen without consequence.
One may argue that composers/arrangers are putting their own twist on the songs which should make it okay. Others will argue that it is cultural appropriation to so do. What are your thoughts about this issue?
