Writing Guidelines
Essay must be double-spaced with 1-inch margins and typed in 12-point Times New RomanWriting Guidelines
Your paper should have a title page and references page (not included in the 4 pages total count).
Essays should be proofread for spelling and grammar mistakes.
You must cite all texts used, including page numbers to avoid plagiarism.
Make sure your paper has an introduction (with purpose statement), main points in the body of the paper, and an overall conclusion section.

Write an analytical essay

Please write an essay on Tom King and Mitch Gerads’ graphic novel Mister Miracle that focuses on a specific set of panels that investigates and expounds upon an idea or aspect of the text by: 1) describing and evaluating how the text engages with that idea or aspect; 2) develop a question about that idea or aspect; 3) offer an evolving thesis that begins to address the question.

Assume that your reader is a Cal student who has casually read Mister Miracle but will need description and reminders about any specific aspect.
Your introduction will include an open-ended question and/or thesis that will let your reader know what you will strive to analyze in your essay.
The body of your essay will strive to answer your question through the use of evidence, including quotations from the text, and reasoning. You are encouraged to cite panels of text as well, screen capping or scanning them to include in the body of your essay.
Each paragraph should address one specific aspect of your analysis. Every single sentence in that paragraph needs to relate to that aspect. And what you learn in one paragraph should inform what you write about in your next paragraph.
Your conclusion should do more than simply repeat what you have said earlier. It should summarize the most important take-away points. Why do your question and discoveries matter? You may also offer a new question that your argument suggests that we should now ask.
Include a specific, interesting title that lets your reader know what your paper is about.
This essay should contain 850-1250 words. It may be longer, if necessary. But do not worry about its length while you are writing! Focus instead on trying to fully ask your question and search for a deeper understanding a certain aspect of the novel. If you do, I guarantee that length will not be a problem.

LGBTQIA+ Refugee Camps in Block 13 in Kakuma, Kenya

Prompt: We are interested in learning more about the context in which you have grown up, formed your aspirations, and accomplished your successes. Please describe how the most influential factors and challenges in your life have shaped you into the person you are today.

*please create a compelling creative writing piece for Yale admission essay

In the East African community, in Kenya’s northwestern Turkana County, a Kakuma refugee camp with almost 200,000 people, lives the LGBTQIA+ community, which continues to face unprovoked attacks, harassment, and heavy discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The transphobia and homophobia within these refugee camps have claimed numerous lives and left many community members with grave physical and psychological injuries. I have been able to integrate myself into the community of Block 13 and understand their struggles due to the political climate and gender issues. They have been refused medical attention by doctors and suffered attacks from surrounding refugees. As they have suffered from a scarcity of food and medication, I have been able to partially alleviate such inhumane circumstances with paracetamol, vitamins, painkillers, cough and flu medicine, sanitary pads, blankets, rice, beans, sugar, maize flour, cooking oil, and wheat flour. I have been able to attract over 1,000 participants who are advocating for their fundamental human rights. As I understand how their struggles are intrinsically linked to governance and political climate, I wish to help reform policies and provide aid assistance on a larger scale by working in the United Nations.
