Personal/ Family Narrative

For this assignment, you will have the opportunity to write about your own immigrant or indigenous experience. You may focus on yourself, a family member, or a member of the community. The essay will be shaped as a personal narrative, and you may incorporate interviews as well as other supplemental/outside sources.
The assignment asks you to recognize storytelling as a vital part of culture and
to reflect on the realm of immigrant and indigenous experiences. Writing about your own journey or that of someone close to you can be a powerful way to explore identity and family, come to terms with losses and gains, and as a means to empower yourself and others.

The assignment encourages you to develop a distinçt voice that would appeal to a general reader. Your narrative should
• Draw on concrete language and selected evocative details to present a scene(s) related to immigration (or migration) and its related themes discussed in class. You should tell a story as a means to explore a theme.
• Develop a controlling idea (thesis) and draw attention to narrative elements including plot, setting, character, and voice.
•Employ rhetorical and stylistic techniques to inform, compel, and affect readers.
• The genre is a non-fiction essay and should draw upon elements of story-telling and the genres of autobiography, biography, and memoir.
• Your perspective (point of view) is as a participant or observer. You do not have to be the main character but can include yourself as a character, or develop a third-person perspective where you remain outside the narrative you are describing. If you can’t think of a family member to focus on, consider interviewing someone outside your family to learn their story.
• You may take creative liberties as you see fit, and if you desire, fictionalize the events and people for a short story, rather than a personal essay. (If this is vour intent make sure a reader knows that your work is fiction, rather than a memoir or biography.)The assignment encourages you to develop a distinçt voice that would appeal to a general reader. • Use interviews as needed, and search for sources including artifacts that might be important to you or your family’s experience. You may want to investigate a family story (such as how your relatives came to this country) or explore venues like ancestry.com and other archives for cultural information and migration trends.
• Narrow to one event or theme, or preset interconnected scenes. Before you start, reflect on what you learned or gained from the experience (whether it’s your own or a family member’s). What meaning does this story have for you; why is it worth sharing?
Examples of Personal Narratives include “The Cossacks of Connecticut” by Daniel Asa Rose and Kilii Yuyan’s video describing a whale hunt (supplement in
Dive Deeper Week 3), as well as Sarah Vowel’s audio podcast tracing her ancestor’s journey on the Trail of Tears.
The suggested length is four pages. Multimedia elements (such as photos or other images (like maps) are encouraged, but not required. Please give captions and source information for any images embedded into the text.

Strategic Management Consulting – Hanesbrands

This writing assignment is on Hanesbrands. Consider yourself a Strategic Management consultant who was selected by the CEO for your subject matter expertise. You know the first thing to do is conduct a SWOT analysis. You will have to find out as much as you can about the organization you selected, and compare it to others like it in the industry (Fruit of the Loom).

Areas to consider/include:

– Provide one to two paragraphs on the trends in the company’s industry, and explain how these trends might impact a company’s strategy.
– Provide one paragraph on the company’s strategic intent.
– Explain in one paragraph the company’s financial objectives and if they have achieved these objectives successfully.
– Essay must have a thesis statement and conclusion that are both supported by research and analysis.
– Remember, you are hired by the CEO of the firm because you are an expert. Your CEO client will want to know you are worth the big bucks you charge. Do not disappoint the client, so:
– Do not forget, your client is the CEO of the company, so telling the client all of the products and what they do is not necessary…they already know.
– Use the most recent information concerning the company.
– Use the most recent financial information and show off your knowledge by using information from the latest management discussion section of the annual report.
– Although it is not a bad idea to review other SWOT analysis, remember your CEO is paying you for your phenomenal abilities to come up with your analysis, do not use someone else’s analysis. This is a strong hint the CEO should not see this or a reference to this. If someone else’s SWOT or other analysis is in the report or used as a reference in your report, your client CEO will return the report for adjustments to reflect your own analysis. (Hint, do not use a SWOT as a reference)
– Think organization; use headings and subheadings.
– Do not forget to include the 2X2 SWOT matrix table, not a list. Keep in mind if it is in the table, you should have a discussion in the narrative. Conversely, if you mention it in the narrative, it should be found in the table.
– Do not get carried away with looking for a thousand strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and/or threats. Keep it manageable and hold it to between three and five of each.
– Use third person in writing.
– Do not use quotes.

Slavery in British North America.

I just need a rewrite as fast as possible. This is due in approximately 2 hours. Below is the text that I need to be rewritten.

The documentary by Steven Spielberg on the Middle Passage relates to Chapter 3 of the American Yawp, which covers the colonization of America and the development of the slave trade. Specifically, the documentary provides a depiction of the emotions and experiences of African captives during the Middle Passage, which is discussed in the American Yawp as a crucial aspect of the slave trade.
The American Yawp discusses the early slave trade and how it grew to become a massive, brutal system that forcibly transported millions of Africans to the Americas. It also highlights the horrors of the Middle Passage, describing how African captives were crammed into ships, often chained together and forced to live in inhumane conditions during their journey across the Atlantic. The documentary by Steven Spielberg provides a visual representation of this experience and helps to illustrate the human toll of the slave trade.
Moreover, the documentary highlights the impact of slavery on African culture and society, which is also discussed in Chapter 3 of the American Yawp. The American Yawp covers the effects of the slave trade on Africa, describing how it disrupted African societies, created new forms of warfare, and led to the depopulation of some regions. The documentary by Steven Spielberg shows how the slave trade devastated African families and communities, causing lasting harm to African culture and society.
Overall, the documentary provides a valuable perspective on the slave trade and its impact on African captives. It complements the discussion in Chapter 3 of the American Yawp, offering a visual representation of the Middle Passage and highlighting the emotional toll of the slave trade on those who were forced to endure it.
