Discuss what the Sublime is according to Burke and how you might think it could shape morals. For example, some methods of rehab for addictions take people into nature to experience the sublime, a disconnect from the modern pace of living, a re-calibration and understanding through introspection that comes from just being in nature for a certain length of time. Another example is when an astronaut goes into outer space or is docked at the International Space Station, and states ‘they wish all politicians of every country could see the Earth from that view’ (I don’t know how many, but I have read several astronauts reference this). These are classic examples of the power of the sublime. Do you have any other examples? If not, then discuss why the Sublime is an important concept according to Burke. A sense of something bigger than ourselves is a common theme all of us experience in life. This discussion is more free form than previous discussions.
The astronaut example is a fun a thought experiment… if all the world leaders did experience something so profound, would it shape policy decision or not?

Use the Johnson essay to inform your answer.
Provide a personal example – think of situations that stand out to you
My short example – being aware of my gender identity (man).
As a man I am generally expected by others to eat more (which can be a privilege to have access to more food). Recently, I stopped eating a lot of breads and big meals in order to help maintain my health. I met with a group of male friends at IHOP and ordered just a fruit cup because I didn’t want to eat a lot, eat carbs, and I planned to work out at the gym later that morning. My male friends looked at me as if they were disappointed (“really man, that all you are eating?”) as if I wasn’t really joining them. I initially thought “maybe I’m not being in the “Man Club” because I’m not order a big meal. They were talking about how much food they were going to “smash on”. As a man (dominant identity) I am expected to have more access to food, and be strong. Perhaps my behavior around eating food was out of the norm for a man. Perhaps eating less was associated with femininity (subordinated) – watching my figure, eating less, not being as strong or big. Thus, could eating less symbolize me, as a man, not really being powerful and privileged?
So, here is a start to an example of how I can use Tatum’s, and Johnson’s ideas of identity, advantage, disadvantage to explain something I recently experienced. le
Explain how you would change this activity for a student with a higher cognitive level and a lower cognitive level in order to support learning for all students.
A classroom is comprised of students at varying levels of cognitive development; therefore, a one-size-fits-all approach will not meet all of the students’ learning needs. Differentiating instruction with cognitive development stages in mind helps ensure all students learning needs are addressed.
For this assignment, use the Cognitive Development Activities template to create three standards-based instructional activities. Refer to Piaget’s stages of cognitive development theory, Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, or Kohlberg’s theory of moral development to guide the design of your instructional activities.
Part 1: Activity Template
Complete the “Cognitive Development Activities” template and provide three examples to address the following in each:
Grade level and subject area(9-grade Mathematics)
Activity: Explain the activity for your content area.
Differentiation: Explain how you would change this activity for a student with a higher cognitive level and a lower cognitive level in order to support learning for all students.
Part 2: Reflection
In 250-500 words, summarize and reflect on how each activity influences and supports students’ varying levels of cognitive development. Explain why this is important to understand and how you will apply it to your future professional practice.
Support your findings with a minimum of three scholarly resources.
I am going to upload the template to get the assignment done:
Part 1- Just file out the form the subject area is Mathematics
Part 2- is the reflection 250 -500 words ok I pay for three pages but the assignment is basically 2 pages please use scholarly sources
Do you think Shakespeare still serves a useful purpose in an English class?
Your Task:
For this essay, you will use Shakespeare’s tragic play Macbeth as the basis for your evaluation of his current status and value, along with our class discussions any other experiences you have had with his plays and sonnets.
Macbeth deals with a wide range of issues such as gender, psychology, ambition, morality and beyond. It has been made into a plethora of productions starring Michale Fassbender, Patrick Stewart, and more. Legendary directors, like Akira Kurosawa and Orson Welles, have adapted the play. In other words, this play is widely celebrated. However, does it offer us, in a college class value?
Do you think Shakespeare still serves a useful purpose in an English class? To the best of your ability, try and ignore the massive historical aura that pervades his legend (e.g. Shakespeare should be studied because he’s a legend and historical) and really try and get a sense of what the point is (if any) of reading Shakespeare’s work. Similarly, think honestly as you concoct your thesis. Even if you found reading Macbeth challenging, try and be mature and realistic about gauging the value of reading this play. It will not suffice to say “Macbeth is boring and hence useless.” You can, however, state that the level of difficulty is so severe it will deter students from reading and hence, will not yield the intended results. Is there value in trying to glean themes and ideas out of difficult versions of English? Could students glean the intended ideas more effectively from a different text/the body of work of a different author?
To begin, it may be helpful to make a general assertion of what you perceive to be the function of an English class such as this one or English 100 (you might even rationalize the function of high school English): is it to prepare students to write in their intended fields? Is it to expose them to iconic works of writing? Is it to sharpen critical thinking skills? Do Shakespearean plays fulfill this need? As members of a classroom community, you all are authorities on this matter.
We will be discussing counterarguments quite a bit in this unit. Regardless of your thesis on the matter (or any matter), remember that the counterpoint always exists. Therefore, for this essay, you are required to include the counterpoint for every point that you make. If you believe Shakespeare should be taught because it gives an opportunity to analyze an older form of English, then you must acknowledge the counterpoint that there is plenty of complex writing that is not written in old English (and will be easier to comprehend). Remember that including a counterpoint does not mean you are changing your mind. In fact, if used properly, using a counterpoint should strengthen your argument.
· As per usual, be sure to articulate where you stand on the value of Macbeth by using textual evidence from the play (citing Shakespeare is a bit different than other texts–we will discuss this);
· We will be discussing notions of general relevance/influence but try and keep your argument related to Shakespeare’s relevance in schools, not just his relevance in general society.
Discuss the very disappointing reality that our society is plagued by various ‘isms’ (racism, sexism, classism, ageism, etc), and how we might eradicate them.
Discuss the very disappointing reality that our society is plagued by various ‘isms’ (racism, sexism, classism, ageism, etc), and how we might eradicate them.. You will chose a prompt and write your essay. The structure is similar to the 3 paragraph ones: intro, body, body, body, conclusion, again saving a final point for the conclusion. The essays should be 5 paragraphs and 400 or more words; again, minimum is not an A. There are 6 prompts to choose from, you must choose one, not write a little on all 6. Let’s try a metaphor… I hope that this metaphor will help you to understand what is required for a full answer on these discussion boards. OK, if I point in the corner and ask what that is; and you say it is a dog. When, in fact, it is a Great Dane balancing on its fore legs in a pink tutu wearing polka-dotted slippers; have you fully answered the question? (As they say: the devil is in the details.) No resubmissions, you get one chance to write and submit. The variables that effect your grade are: length, depth, clarity. Every one will receive direct feedback from the teacher which is designed to further deepen your take away. This will be run through Turnitin for plagiarism.
i also have attached my first paper for this class so you can see how I write.
