For this assignment, you will research treatment options available for your case or your population, and then write a paper. Be sure your research and paper address the following:
Identify treatment options available for your particular individual or group’s needs in jail, prison, or community corrections.
Discuss the availability and flow of treatment as the individual or population moves from the correctional environment to the community.
Discuss the efficacy of treatment options available.
Support your assignment with at least two peer-reviewed journal articles.
Length: 3-5 pages
Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University’s Academic Integrity Policy.

on the military power
Since all of you are from different majors, I would like to give you the academic freedom to write your weekly papers in the area of your interest, focusing on the topic/title of the lecture notes. Each lecture notes has plenty of material for students to have the academic freedom to decide what type of approach they would like to give to their weekly assignments / 3-page paper.
In terms of the style of each paper, I would like you to write them in MLA format: Word, double space, font size 12 and style Arial or Times New Roman. By the way, when writing the required MLA papers for this course, you may always list the below textbooks and my lecture notes on your Reference / Bibliography page. In addition, you may cite your own academic sources related to the Latin American topic (s) we are studying
1- Chasteen, John Charles. Born in Blood and Fire: A Concise History of Latin America, 2nd ed., New York, N.Y.; London: W.W. Norton & Co., 2006.
2- Klaiber, Jeffrey. The Church, Dictatorships and Democracy in Latin America. Maryknoll, New York: Orbis Books, 1998.
Department of Homeland Security

The Case of Cassandra C
Answer the following questions:
1) What is your judgment about the decision to take Cassandra from her family and force her to undergo chemotherapy? Was it legal? Was it moral? State why you think so.
2) The immediate results of the decision to coerce her to undergo chemotherapy is that it worked: the cancer was forced into remission, at least temporarily. Do you think the consequences determine whether or not this decision is right or wrong?
3) Do you think the decision to force her to undergo chemotherapy violated her rights? Why or why not? What are your sources of authority? Do you have high or low confidence in this knowledge?
4) Is your thinking on this matter consequentialist or nonconsequentialist? State why you think so, or why not. What are your sources of authority?
Klopfer vs. North Carolina Court Case
The paper should be about any criminal case that involves the use of the 4th , 5th
, and/or 6th amendment. I have found that the older cases, (before the 1980’s ) reveal the best results and are more interesting. What I want you to do is research a case from multiple sources. See if the subject of the case had been properly afforded their modern day Constitutional rights. Take interest in those cases where the subject of the case was not properly afforded their rights. You may come across cases where the subject of the case was never brought to trial. In those cases, try to determine what the outcome of the trial might have been had they been given their rights and had a fair trial. You should answer the questions; who, what where ,when and why. You should have an introduction, body and a conclusion to the paper. I fully expect you to proof read and correct any mistakes before you turn in the paper. The paper should be at least 10 pages long.
Hypothesis Testing: Chi-Square Test of Independence
Hypothesis Testing: Chi-Square Test of Independence
A statistical hypothesis is a claim about a population parameter. Hypothesis testing is a way to build support for or against a population claim. There are many types of hypothesis tests. This week we will be using a Chi-Square Test of Independence to test the claim about the relationship between two categorical variables.
To prepare for this Discussion:
Review the Week 5 Discussion resources.
Search for two categorical variables.
Create a contingency table showing the results of your data collection.
Everyone will be testing to see if the two categorical variables are independent. You may have to search the internet or research your field of study (Psychology) for appropriate categorical variables. Stick to health-related topics. You cannot use rates, percentages or proportions in your contingency table. You must list counts.
Example:
A research report from the Working Group on Passive Smoking concluded that a link exists between passive smoking and prevalence of disease.
Null hypothesis: Exposure to passive smoke and prevalence of disease is
independent.
Alternative hypothesis: Exposure to passive smoke and prevalence of disease is
dependent.
Significance Level = .05
Heart Disease
Cancer
Diabetes
Significant Exposure to Passive Smoke
185
145
95
No Exposure to Passive Smoke

63
44
Degrees of freedom: 2
Test Statistic, X^2: 4.1767
Critical X^2: 5.991471
P-Value: 0.1239
Post a 1- to 2-paragraph write-up that includes the following:
Include your contingency table and describe the scenario you will be using for the hypothesis test. Give the null and alternative hypotheses and your level of significance.
Enter the data for your qualitative variables into the Statdisk Sample Editor.
List the results of the hypothesis test.
Write a conclusion statement based on your comparison of the p-value and level of
significance. Your conclusion to accept or reject is always directed to the null
hypothesis.
List the degrees of freedom and how it was calculated.
Read the article “The DMS-5 Controversies” and then discuss the controversies of the DSM-5 as outlined by the authors.
Read the article “The DMS-5 Controversies” and then discuss the controversies of the
DSM-5 as outlined by the authors. Provide specific examples and elaborate when
necessary to support your assertions. The authors propose a solution to some of
these controversies of the DSM-5. Do you agree? Why or why not? What solutions
to these issues can you propose?
You may be prompted to logon using your SLU Portal
credentials to access the article. The article is located in the PsycINFO
database of the SLU Online Library.
You may want to review the “DSM-5” and
“Analysis in Applied Psychology Part 1” content prior to
participating in this discussion. It may also help you to review “Analysis
in Applied Psychology Part 2” located under Module 2. These two parts will
be relevant to the discussions in Modules 1 and 2.
I will attach the article in a word document
Describe at least two treatment methods that have been shown to assist in reducing recidivism.
This week, you will write a brief critique of the state of rehabilitation in correctional settings and its impact on recidivism, particularly for inmates with mental health needs.
In your critique, reflect on and include information that you learned in this course about the correctional environment and community corrections. Be sure your critique addresses the following:
Identify at least three specific challenges to rehabilitative programming.
Describe at least two treatment methods that have been shown to assist in reducing recidivism.
Support your assignment with references from at least two scholarly sources.
Length: 2-3 pages
