The legal system in nursing

Consider the following situation and discuss whether the patient has a case for malpractice against the hospital or nursing staff
Unit 5N is a general medical–surgical unit. On the night of the incident, staffing is considered adequate for the census and patient acuity. Mr. Jones, admitted for pneumonia, unexpectedly suffers a massive MI. The nursing staff responds to Mr. Jones and begins CPR while waiting for the “code team” to arrive. While the nursing staff is administering CPR to Mr. Jones, Mrs. Smith, an elderly stroke victim suddenly needs to go to the bathroom. She has been instructed to wait for assistance before getting out of bed and she is mentally competent to understand these instructions. When her call light is not immediately answered she decides she cannot wait and attempts to get to the bathroom (in this case a bedside commode) on her own. During her attempt to get out of bed, she falls and breaks her hip.

why Congress needs to repeal the abortion restriction that prohibits federal Medicaid funding for abortions.

The assignment is to write the “Editorial” following the assignment structure. An editorial is an article that presents the newspaper’s opinion on an issue. It reflects the majority vote of the editorial board, the governing body of the newspaper made up of editors and business managers. Editorials are meant to influence public opinion, promote critical thinking, and sometimes cause people to take action on an issue. In order to sustain objectivity and balance, do not use first-person perspective in this paper. Please see the attached file about the assignment structure

1-1 Discussion: Asking Scientific Questions

search www.sciencedaily.com for a news story about a natural science topic that’s less than six months old. Once you’ve chosen a news story, summarize the main ideas from the article. Then, draft two questions that a natural scientist might ask about the topic. Include both the summary and the two questions in your initial post. As you write your questions, think about what you’ve learned about the natural sciences and scientific thinking in the module overview. For instance, if you chose an article on volcanic eruptions, you might ask: what causes eruptions to happen and how do we predict when they’ll occur? Make sure to include the news story title and a link to it in your post.

Criminal Trial Process

The criminal trial process has many components. In this assignment, you will explore real-life examples of the criminal trial process in two different types of trials.
Search the Internet for trials using parameters such as but not limited to “watch criminal trials online,” or visit the Wild About Trial website.

Compare two trials. If possible, compare a murder trial with one involving another major felony. Include the parties represented in each trial (i.e., plaintiff and defendant).
Write 350- to 700-word comparison in which you:
Summarize what each trial was about.
Identify the type of court the trials were held in (refer to Ch. 1 for types of courts in the United States).
Describe as many of the steps of each trial as you can (refer to Ch. 13 for the steps/process).
Explain the similarities and differences between the two trials you selected.
Identify as many of the actors of each trial as you can who played a role in the steps of the trial process. What were their roles?
Cite a minimum of 2 sources (one source for each trial). Citations should be placed in the body of the paper. There should be a list of references at the end of the paper. Every listed reference should be cited at least once in the body of the paper.

Format your comparison according to APA guidelines.

Each case that you discuss needs to have been a criminal trial in the United States. For this assignment it is unacceptable to discuss a case outside the United States, a civil case, a case that was resolved by a plea bargain, or a case that has not yet gone to trial.
Quoted language does not count toward the minimum word count.

Submit your assignment.

Compare and contrast: 1) An earthquake that has its epicenter 40-50 miles east of the Monterey Bay area of California, versus 2) An earthquake that has its epicenter 25-50 miles due west of Portland, Oregon.

Earthquakes of different types frequently occur all along the western coast of the United States.
Compare and contrast:
1) An earthquake that has its epicenter 40-50 miles east of the Monterey Bay area of California,
versus
2) An earthquake that has its epicenter 25-50 miles due west of Portland, Oregon.
In your response, be sure to address the tectonic regime associated with the earthquakes, the expected magnitude range (particularly, the maximum Richter magnitude) at each location, and the potential damage or hazards that might occur. You should also describe any other exacerbating or mitigating circumstances that might occur, directly or indirectly, from these earthquakes.
Be detailed and expansive in your essay.
(See area maps for visual clues to tectonic regimes).
