The purpose of this assignment is to develop your writing skills as they pertain to this course.
As discussed in class, communication is a critical component of organizational effectiveness in all areas of its operations, and as this pertains to you, communication is critical to your personal professional development.
In addition to developing your oral and written communication skills, it is important that you be able to discern the appropriate mode of communication. Some of the factors that impact the mode (how to deliver the message) have to do with the sensitivity of the situation, its criticality and how quickly the message needs to be relayed and/or responded to; as well as the need to have sufficient, relevant, accurate, and timely documentation, and there could be many other factors.
The three writing assignments were designed with the above in mind.

Assignment 1—Advertising Appeals:
Advertising appeals are designed to stimulate a consumer need or want that will ultimately become an exchange.
Common advertising appeals include health, fear, admiration, convenience, fun and pleasure, vanity, and social consciousness. Find two examples of online advertisements that use one of these appeals, (you can search product websites, YouTube, and/or Facebook. For each ad, identify the advertising appeal and explain how that appeal is appropriate given the target market. Please be sure to include the online link(s) for your ads; you work cannot be graded without the online links; be sure the links are working before you submit your work.

Your assignment is to write a 1 page double spaced paper summarizing the 2 online advertisements that use appeals.

Compare and contrast the growth and developmental patterns of two toddlers of different ages using Gordon’s functional health patterns. Describe and apply the components of Gordon’s functional health patterns as it applies to toddlers.

Assignment for this week is to be written in a SOAP Note format (NO NARRATIVES). There is a template/sample for you to follow . You will need to put in the missing information in the note (some may be made up meds, hx, parts of the ROS and PE).Choose one skin condition graphic; I have included the picture of the skin conditions for the assignment. Review your problem or issue and the study materials to formulate a PICOT question for your capstone project change proposal. A PICOT question starts with a designated patient population in a particular clinical area and identifies clinical problems or issues that arise from clinical care. The intervention used to address the problem must be a nursing practice intervention. Include a comparison of the nursing intervention to a patient population not currently receiving the nursing intervention, and specify the timeframe needed to implement the change process. Formulate a PICOT question using the PICOT format (provided in the assigned readings) that addresses the clinical nursing problem.
The PICOT question will provide a framework for your capstone project change proposal.
In a paper of 500-750 words, clearly identify the clinical problem and how it can result in a positive patient outcome.

Originate from a disciplinary context (take into account prior disciplinary knowledge)
Maintain significance (to a subset of people)
Keep a pointed scope (they are manageable and part of a larger question)
Spur further research (they have multiple branches of inquiry leading to and from them)
Describe how your most current research question fulfills each of the characteristics described above.

Week 5 Journal: Deciding on a Research Topic

Journal Choosing a research topic can be both a liberating opportunity and a daunting challenge.
Many writers and researchers find that being allowed to select their own topic of research
inspires them to examine a deeper, more complex topic, or that it allows them to research
a personal interest. However, some find the prospect of narrowing down a research topic
to be intimidating – how does one go about choosing a topic that will sustain a research paper?
For this week’s journal post, you should reflect on how you went about deciding what topic
you wanted to explore for your own final paper. Did you decide on an academic topic related
to your major? Did you choose something related to your own personal interests? You could
also reflect on topics you thought about choosing, but ultimately bypassed – why did you decide
not to pursue them?

On July 18, you will submit a FULL 4 page paper on violence, drugs, and delinquency. You will be asked to look up and integrate the terms age-crime curve, Chronic offender, and maturational reform.
