For question #3.
Write a one page description (single space) of the analysis including (a) project background (refer to our project), (b) brief explanation of costs and benefits included in the analysis; and (c) your conclusion about the project based on interpretation and criteria of decision rules using the computed BCRs, NPVs, and IRR.
Project background: you need to read this paper “01_Chabba-final paper.pdf”

For question 6: answer only this. (I already did the graphs)
(a) Find the mean and standard deviations of BCR1, BCR2, BCR3, NPV1, NPV2 and NPV3. Explain how these values change from level 1 and level 3 benefits. Which of the BCA parameter do you think had the most impact on the changes in BCR and NPV values from level 1 to 3?

(b) Draw a scatter plot Discount Rate (X-axis) and BCR3 (Y-axis). What pattern or relationship do you observe between the two variables? Explain why? Similarly, draw a scatter plot of Annual incremental Home Value (as -axis) and NPV2 (y-axis). Interpret the graph.

(c)Using the thousand observations of NPV1, NPV2 and NPV3, compute the percentile values of those variables. Draw the percentiles graphs of NPV1, NPV2 and NPV3 (with percentiles on Y-axis and all three NPVs on the same X-axis). Looking at the graph, find out at what percentile the NPV1, NPV2 and NPV3 will exceed zero. That is, what is the probability that each NPV will be above zero?

“War of a Thousand Deserts” Texas History Book Review

THE BOOK “War of a Thousand Deserts” by Brian Leday must be used as the basis of this essay and have multiple quotes as evidence throughout the essay.

12 point font/Times New Roman
Margins 1″/Double Spaced
Indent paragraphs and do not insert an extra space between paragraphs.
Citations: for information drawn from the book you will need to provide a page number citation at the end of the sentence in parentheses.
Each book review must cover the following three areas (in your reviews, you may use subheadings, if necessary, to indicate where you address each area): (1) A summary of the book (2) Tying the book into the historical context: make sure that you keep your review grounded in a chronology and a geography. Keep a sense of sequence of events, and where things happen. (3) Reflection: For this part, you will draw upon given prompts to evaluate historical arguments and concepts.

BOOK REVIEW QUESTION: you may split your paper into two sections: “Synopsis,” and “Reflection.” In “Synopsis” briefly summarize War of a Thousand Deserts. Make sure your summarization retains a sense of both chronology and geography. You should explicitly identify where and when significant events in the book occur, and how they effect the course of Texas. This section should not exceed two pages. In “Reflection” focus your writing according to the following question — To what extent do you think that Indian Raiding shaped Americans’ view of Mexico and Mexicans? Using the book and other materials from this unit comment on how Americans viewed Mexico, how Americans explained and justified events like the annexation of Texas and the invasion of Mexico. Do you think the “deserts” in the Southwest created by Indian raiding paved the path for American expansion into Northern Mexico?

Employment and Labor Relations Case study 1

Below is what the instructor requested.
At the end of each chapter are case problems you will answer for “You be the Arbitrator” assignments in this unit and other select units.
Prepare written answers to the case problems from the end of Chapter 1 in the text. Complete the following:
Include a cover sheet (one cover sheet for each unit’s cases will suffice).
The length will vary depending on the depth required to answer the question; however, responses should be written in a concise manner.
The answers should be in complete sentence format and reflect a reference to the material in the readings of the textbook.
In addition, your views, ideas, and opinions are important and should be incorporated in the answer as appropriate.
Ensure that you address the question: What would be different in a non-union environment?

Answering a prompt in essay format

How would you compare the introduction of Margaret Mead’s Coming of Age in Samoa with Malinowski’s introduction to Argonauts? What ideas do Mead and Malinowski have in common? What rhetoric do they share? And how do they differ, either in substance or style? Then compare these two early ethnographers with how Keith Basso introduces the setting and themes to Wisdom Sits in Places. What has changed seven decades later? Are there any continuities between how Basso introduces his ethnography and the earlier anthropologists?

Deputy Smithcom Case Study

Read the case study (Deputy Smithcom) on p. 17 (Stevens, 2008). What would you have done differently than Deputy Smithcom? If you were his supervisor, what would you do? In your recommendations, be sure to use at least two crisis intervention strategies outlined on pp. 79-82 ( James & Gilliland, 2017).

Case Study:
Deputy Chris Smithcom was a deputy sheriff at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana for 10 years. In late 1997 while working night patrol, he received a missing persons report involving a mother and daughter. He proceeded to the station to complete the paperwork rather than answer a disturbance call, which was close to his location. During the drive, the dispatcher advised that shots had been fired at that location and someone was down. A vehicle pursuit was in progress. Several police vehicles respond including Smithcom. The pursuit lasted for 10 minutes and Smithcom and the subject engaged in a gunfight. Both were injured. After Smithcom was hospitalized, he learned that his closest friend had been killed at the original location along with the subject’s wife. Smithcom was devastated because he felt that he should have backed up the call but wanted to start the paperwork on his missing person case. Smithcom was honored by his department for his heroics during the gunfight but he was miserable with grief and guilt. He couldn’t face his dead officer’s family and retreated into his own world of despair. He alienated family, friends, and the department. Smithcom says, “It has been a year and a half of hard work and forgiving and realizing that I didn’t pull that trigger, the subject did. My department and fellow deputies never saw what I have become, or they didn’t want to see.”80 It appears that Smithcom is demonstrating the police “code of silence,” which implies to never show signs of weakness.
