II. Investment Project: Use this section to describe the investment for
which you are seeking funding, its costs, and time frame.
A.
Describe the investment project.
Be sure to provide sufficient detail to give
the loan committee a firm sense of the parameters of the activity, the need for
it, and what financial metrics are relevant for determining success. In other
words, what do you propose to do, where, what marketplace need will it fill,
and how will you measure success?
B. Specify the resources the project will require and where
these resources will come from. In addition to noting the amount of the loan
you are requesting, you should also consider human resources, facilities,
government approvals, intellectual property, access to natural resources, and
other resources that might be required to carry out the project.
C. Time frame. When will the project start, what is the
anticipated economic life of the proposed expansion, and how will you decide
if, when, or how to exit? Justify your choices with appropriate financial
metrics.III. Justification: In this
section, you should analyze the impact of the investment proposal on your
business.
A. Why is now a good time for this investment given the
global context? Justify your response, citing specific external factors such as
trade regulations, foreign currency considerations, or trends in foreign direct
investment that might affect business financial decisions.
B. Strategic fit. Use this section to discuss why the
investment proposal makes sense for your company strategically. Specifically:
1. How does the investment align with the companys
organizational and financial priorities? Support your argument with evidence
from company reports and financial statement analysis designed to persuade the
lender that the investment is a good strategic fit for your company.
2. How does the project fit within the global microeconomic
environment? Support your response with evidence. For example, would the expansion
tap unmet demand for the companys key products or services or fill a new
niche? How do you know?
3. How does the project build on the organizations core
competencies and comparative advantage? For example, does the company have a strategic
advantage from intellectual property, regional expertise, suppliers, or
organizational structure?

TERRORIST ATTACKS ON MASS TRANSIT
The topic chosen for the research project (paper) may deal with the technical, institutional, policy, or societal aspects of transportation security and safety from an emergency management perspective. The topic will be selected in consultation with the instructor and the final selection will be with his approval.
In selecting the topic, the students should think beyond presenting simply a historical or a literature survey. The goal is to think of what new ideas and innovative solutions can be added to a particular topic. The project paper should be written in the students own words, with careful attention to proper citation of sources.
For the research project, every student will conduct an effort aimed at identifying factors that influence transportation system security and safety problems and innovative solutions/countermeasures, which might address the problem. The students can choose a topic that is of interest to them and it can be a project that you are currently working on or intend to possibly explore at a later date (i.e. graduate school, thesis).
The paper should be 6-8 pages (12 point font, double-spaced, etc) and contain a minimum of five references.

Instructions:
Post your discussion to the Moodle Discussion Forum. Word limit 500 words. Support your answers with the literature and provide citations and references in APA format.
Background Checks for Gun Sales and Transfers
Pick a controversial ethical topic or moral issue. Post your topic to the Module 3 Presentation Topic discussion activity and await your instructor’s response. It is best to keep the topic very focused for this short assignment.
Decide what your position is on the topic and prepare to explain why. Pick one or more ethical theories to justify your beliefs about the topic.
Conduct quality research on the topic and present that research. A good topic of choice will feature at least five professional sources from the ERAU Hunt Library database. Unbiased articles and academic studies are best. Examples are scholarly periodicals, journals, books, research forums, and Internet periodicals by reputable organizations. You may also use reputable news media (Newsweek, Time, government publications, and web sites), but these do not count toward your total references requirement (five required). Do not use encyclopedias, dictionaries, Wikipedia, and popular forums or Internet web sites.
Create a 10-minute slide style presentation with accompanying audio. Refer to the Presentation Guide for other available software options. Present both sides of the issue fairly; then justify your viewpoint. End with at least three ethical discussion questions about the topic. Include a slide that lists your references in APA format (see the presentation outline section). Make sure your presentation features an appropriate number of slides and presents the information as clearly as possible. Avoid including slides with too many words, lack of clarity, and poor grammar. Use illustrations where appropriate. Utilize the notes section of the slide for large chunks of text or supporting information.
Your presentation must follow this outline:
Title Slide – This first slide must include the presentation title, your full name, and the date.
Body Slide- The next slides will contain an explanation and summary of both sides of the issue. Use your research to objectively (your opinion will come later) present the facts and opinions of both sides fairly. In your slides, cite (current APA format) the research you use, including citations. Your explanation and summaries should be in-depth, thus taking up several slides (should be 3+ slides). Use the notes section of the slide if you feel the slides are becoming crowded with too much text. Relate any principles, concepts, or information from your textbook into your presentation.
Reference Slide – This next slide must list all sources in the current APA format.
Opinion Slide – This next slide is your opinion. Present your own opinion about the controversy. You must explain why you believe what you do. Also, tie your opinion to one or more of the ethical approaches discussed in the textbook. State this ethical approach on the slide and explain why the approach is the right. Ex. “Utilitarian approach” focuses on consequences of abortion, more infant deaths vs. reduced back-alley deaths; deontology approach, does a fetus have rights vs. rights of mother; etc. Use the text or another professional source to support your stance. Be sure to properly cite your sources accordingly.
Conclusion and Discussion Questions Slide – Provide a summary of your presentation and close your presentation with three discussion questions about the topic. Think about these questions. Your questions must be ethically challenging and tough. You want your questions to really invoke a great deal of discussion.

Leadership at Company X recognizes the importance of assessing their corporate culture as it relates to the companys performance and effectiveness.
You have been contacted by Company X to perform an assessment of Company Xs culture. The company is expecting you to provide insight on which aspects of the culture need improvement and the cultures impact on organizational effectiveness and performance.
You will perform an evaluation of the companys organizational culture and provide recommendations that leadership can act on. Company Xs human resources (HR) manager has provided you with assessment data collected from an employee engagement survey and an annual productivity report.
It is your responsibility to evaluate and summarize the assessment data to provide insight on the aspects of culture and its importance related to the organizations effectiveness and employee performance. You will present this to several stakeholders. Your summary will be a valuable tool for the HR manager to evaluate and support the culture in the future.

The type of culture and subcultures that exist within the organization
Areas of agreement or disagreement among employees on their perspective of the organizational culture
Explain the strengths and weaknesses of the organizational culture.
Identify the aspects that support (or hinder) the companys effectiveness and performance.
Recommendations: Using the conclusions from your evaluation, create recommendations for Company Xs HR manager to move forward with assessing the culture in the future. In your recommendations, you should address the following:
Describe in detail the best practices to effectively administer a cultural assessment. Consider strategies the new HR manager can use to mitigate potential biases in the data.
Recommend effective strategies to improve culture within the organization. Consider one or more of the following to inform your response:
The roles of management and leadership in regard to supporting the organizational culture
How the company should effectively demonstrate or communicate cultural improvements to their employees
How your evaluation and recommended strategies will affect the organizations effectiveness and performance
What to Submit
Every project has a deliverable or deliverables, which are the files that must be submitted before your project can be assessed. For this project, you must submit the following:
Organizational Cultural Assessment Summary
Your summary should include an evaluation and recommendations. Your summary must be 750 to 1,250 words in length (plus a cover page and references). Cite any and all sources appropriately.
This project MUST follow every part of the Rubric Criteria attached in the files folder.
