Writing for Media Speech Story

A speech story is different than a breaking news story because it focuses on the CONTENT and CONTEXT of the speech and speaker, rather than just stating that the speech took place. In this assignment, youll get to work on your live reporting skills, including interviewing.
You will write a story of 400-500 words with an appropriate lead for a speech story
Your lead should NOT be a summary lead like those we’ve worked on for breaking news. Instead, lead with the most interesting, surprising or newsworthy element of the speech. Example:
Summary lead (wrong): “Prof. Indiana Jones gave a speech about archaeology on Monday.”
Content lead (right): “Nazis have systematically looted ancient sites of power, according to Prof. Indiana Jones, who spoke at the Armory Monday.”)
Write the body of the story in inverted pyramid, including some quotes and some paraphrasing. Do not write about the speech chronologically.

Silence of the Lambs

Please choose two of the following questions to answer for this unit by Wednesday at 11:59pm (CST). You should also respond to two of your classmates’ postings by Sunday at 11:59pm (CST).
Before answering this unit’s questions, you should view the film The Silence of the Lambs (1991) directed by Jonathan Demme. The film pits two very different serial killers against one another, with an FBI agent caught in the middle of their struggles for justice.
Keep in mind, as you view the film, a few of the questions posted below.
Directions
Full-bodied entriesof at least ten sentences of writing from you (in addition to quotations from the text)are more likely to receive full credit. Lesser credit will be assigned to work that is missing, brief, or clearly disengaged or sloppily produced such that miscues interfere with readability.
Your responses to other students work are also assessed. Students often resist commenting on each others work in substantial ways; instead choosing to post simply good job or looks okay to me. This kind of peer response doesnt help your ownor your peersdevelopment as a writer and thinker.

My questions
How does the film ask us to demonize Buffalo Bill as a villain, but redeem Hannibal Lecter? Or vice-versa? Support yourself with evidence from your viewing of the film. Be as specific as possible.
The violent murders within the film are showcased and presented in strikingly different ways. Clarify and analyze the way that Jonathan Demme, the director of the film, depicts the kills from each of the serial killers.

Judaism and The Rise of Christendom

Judaism and The Rise of Christendom
Judaism has a history that dates back 4000 years. The Hebrews were nomadic people who arose from the aboriginal Canaanites and neighbouring deserts. The Israelites had an era of authority around 1,000 BC under King David, who seized Jerusalem. His son, King Solomon, built the first majestic Temple in Jerusalem for God’s worship. The Jews refuted the common polytheism of the time and would praise only Yahweh, whose 10 Commandments taught them morality. The Temple was destroyed in 587 BC, and the Jewish leaders went to other countries (exile) and came back after a century to new leadership (Oskar, 2002).
Judea was annexed by the Roman Empire in 63 BC. Around 6 BC, A Jewish family in Nazareth was blessed with Jesus birth, as a result, worship of the God of Israel spread throughout, and eventually dominated the Western World, diving the calendar into BC and AD (Anno Domini). This topic is important as it tells us how Christianity came to be, According to Woods & Canizares (2012), Christianity started as a belief system within Judaism in the mid-first century resulting from the life of Jesus Christ. Considering this information, it can be deduced that had the Roman Empire not faded, Christianity would have never been established
