State and define the theory chosen for the Theory Response paper.
The purpose of the theory response is to demonstrate an academic and real-world knowledge of a specific theoretical construct from the course. The Theory Response has 5 parts. 1) State and define the theory chosen for the Theory Response paper. 2) Give the reference for a peer-reviewed research article that uses the theory. Then, in one paragraph, summarize how the concept is defined and operationalized in the study. You do not need to describe the study in detail, only how the concept you have chosen was used. 3) Give an example of how the concept would be used to understand an issue at the macro-level (that is an issue involving a very large group like states or national people groups). 4) Give an example of how the concept would be used to understand an issue at the micro-level (that is an issue involving a small group like a youth group or college sports team). 5) Give an example of how the concept would be used to understand an issue from your own life.
For this theory response, you must choose from the following concepts: ageism, anti-fat attitudes, authoritarianism, prejudice, stereotypes, social dominance orientation, or intrinsic religiosity.

Mini Literature Review – Learning Environment in the Classroom
Here are a few guidelines and pointers when drafting your literature review:
Introduction – In this section, you should provide a general introduction to your paper. You could focus on answering the following questions:
What are you going to tell the reader?
Why are you going to tell the reader this information?
Problem Statement – In this section, you should introduce your problem statement. This would include answering the following questions:
Why are you studying this issue?
Why is this issue an important issue in education?
The goal of the problem statement is to argue that the problem being studied is an important one as well as to persuade the reader that he or she should keep reading your paper because you will be presenting information that will help him or her better understand the said problem.
Literature Review – This section should account for the work that other researchers have done to solve the problem that you outlined in the problem statement. You should include information from at least 4 different research articles. In this section, I would encourage you to focus on the following questions (also refer to Reading and Understanding Academic Literature chart completed as a miscellaneous assignment):
What research has been conducted to help solve this problem?
How has that research been conducted?
How does that research help us better understand this problem?
What gaps exist in this research (e.g., what questions are left unanswered)?
How does my study/research help close those gaps?
Conclusion In this section, you should provide a general conclusion to your paper. You could focus on answering the following questions:
What have you told the reader? (A summary of the points in the paper).
Why have you told the reader about this information? (What is the worth knowing?)
Include a list of references in APA style.
Your literature review excluding the references and title page should be about four to five pages but we will not take off if it is longer.
Discussion 2 – How do we code and interpret qualitative data?
Read others posts and respond in 250-300 words to at least one of your course colleagues. Why do you agree or disagree with their post? What in your research supports your assertions?
Rembrandt and the Face of Jesus
Visit the museum or cultural heritage website and complete all facets of the tour:
http://rembrandt.louvre.fr/en/html/introduction.html
Based on the prompt for the Virtual Tour, compose a journal entry of at least 400 words.
Begin each journal entry by describing what you saw in the tour.
Journal entries must include at least 1 academic citation (journal article or book from JSTOR) in current MLA format. Do not cite the tour, the Bible, the textbook, or websites
Prompt: In his quest to revitalize Christian imagery, Rembrandt rejected the predictable majesty of traditional portrayals of Christ. He was interested in Christ the man himself, and how his family and the crowds to whom he preached perceived him.
Describe what you see in the tour – GIVE EXAMPLES.
Discuss: How do Rembrandt’s paintings of Jesus differ from earlier Christian imagery?
Discuss: Do we still rely on Rembrandts images of Jesus today, or has the face of Jesus changed since the 17th century?
