CCA-A
In this assessment, you
will select ONLY ONE of the following cases and write a 2400-3000, APA formatted paper analyzing
the problem and offer solutions.
Remember that
regardless of the case you select, you MUST apply the theories, methods,
topics, and principles you have learned in your courses. While the problem
presented in each case differs, they all represent topics covered in your
courses.
Case Studies: Each of
the following case studies includes a problem on which you will write your
paper. While the first four cases are applicable to any degree options, the
last four cases are recommended for certain degree options as indicated in
parentheses. For example, if you are a doctoral student in the Global Business
and Leadership program, you can either select one of the first four cases or
case #5. You can download the case you selected at the bottom of this page.
1.
2. CHOOSE FROM:
J Johnson Toy
Company (Global Business and Leadership)
3.
The
Acquisition of Abbott Hospital (Healthcare Management and Leadership)
Please ensure to read
your selected case before you start writing your paper. Your CCA paper must
consist of the following four areas:
1. Problem: Define the
problem presented in the case study. What is the specific problem to be
addressed in the case study? What are the underlying causes of the problem? Why
did it occur in the first place?
2. Background: Provide
a background of the problem. What has been said, researched, or documented
about this type of problem in the industry? How common is this problem in the
industry? What are some practices and approaches taken by organizations facing
a similar problem? Use journal articles, press releases, corporate reports, and
any data you can find on the topic.
3. Solutions: Now that
you have identified the problem and provided background, you will present
solutions and justify them. What solutions can you offer? Why did you decide on
these solutions? How feasible are your solutions? How can you ensure your
solutions will address this problem? What methodology or structure are you
going to follow to implement these solutions? How are you going to implement
your solutions? What are some drawbacks or limitations of your solutions in
addressing the problem?
4. Conclusions:
Rephrase your problem and its impact. Briefly explain the background and
existing practices. Summarize your solutions and their implications for the
industry.
In addition to having
these four sections, your paper must meet the below formatting criteria:
2400-3000 words (8-10
pages) excluding the cover page and references.
APA 7th style
formatted, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 pt.

Before writing your
paper, ensure to review the CCA Rubric at the bottom of this page.
Bonn and the Cold War
Here is the full topic:
Bonn and the Cold War – Bonn was the capital of West Germany between 1949 and 1990 and it is still the second seat of government. How do you feel about this? Do you think that Bonn was/is a likely capital city? How is this still reflected in the cityscape? How does Bonn present the history of the two Germanies?
Discriminate Quasi-Experimental Research
You have been asked to help budding researchers understand the difference between quasi-experiments and true experiments. Prepare a tip sheet that could be shared with others that may also serve as a helpful tool for you as you continue your studies. You may include graphics, tables, or other visuals to support your work.
To begin, provide an example of a quasi-experimental research design where you are studying differences among individuals within pre-existing groups or conditions that occur naturally within the real world. Briefly describe the study, and then include the following in your tip sheet:
Explain the issue of random assignment, and detail why it would be necessary to conduct a quasi-experimental study and not a true experiment in this hypothetical study.
Interpret how this group membership could be impactful in understanding the results.
Conclude with a brief exploration of what you would need to do to convert this into a true experiment, theoretically speaking.
Length: 2-3 page tip sheet, not including title and reference pages
References: Include a minimum of 2 scholarly resources.
The completed assignment should address all of the assignment requirements, exhibit evidence of concept knowledge, and demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the content presented in the course. The writing should integrate scholarly resources, reflect academic expectations and current APA standards, and adhere to Northcentral University’s Academic Integrity Policy.
nursing organizational systems and behaviors powerpoint
The topics for this unit are finance, human resources, performance improvement, and technology – the business of healthcare.
You have been asked to speak to a group of students in nursing and other healthcare professions. You are assigned to talk about the importance of finance, human resources, performance improvement, and technology in relation to healthcare organizations today.
Create a Voice-Over PowerPoint presentation. You have been given 15-20 minutes. Plan on 1 slide for every 1-2 minutes of speaking time (10-15 slides).
Include a title and reference slide (the number of slides above does not include title and reference slides) *** ( Clearly I will do the voiceover once the powerpoint is completed).
Include an introduction and conclusion slide
Include appropriate citations on your slides
Utilize the notes function to outline your talking points and provide additional facts that you will use for your presentation.
Include a minimum of 4-5 scholarly references to support your presentation. References should be 5 years old or newer.
In general, PowerPoint presentations should have a limited number of bullet points on each slide to convey the main point of the slide. They should include images but they should be professional, the source cited and limited in number. It is usually helpful to start with the notes section for what you want to say instead of the slides. Once the notes section is completed, pull out your main points for the slides.
Decision Making With the Scientific Method
Write a 3-4 page essay in which you explain how you would use the scientific method and steps of the sociological research process to study two issues.
Introduction
If you have ever tried to complete a jigsaw puzzle, you probably know that one of the most common techniques is to assemble all the edge pieces first. Framing the picture in this way helps you develop a strategy for finding the pieces you need to complete the puzzle. Similarly, when you’re trying to solve a problem in society or your personal or professional life, you first need to frame the problem, then develop a strategy, and finally gather the pieces of evidence you need to find a solution.
One way sociologists do this is by using the scientific method, a step-by-step process for collecting evidence to test a hypothesis (or explanation) about the way the world works. Sociologists use this step-by-step approach to explore observations and answer questions about society, such as which social factors influence the choice of romantic partners or to what extent gender affects economic mobility. For this assessment, you will review two scenarios and explain how you would use the scientific method and steps of the sociological research process to study two issues.
Preparation
Review the suggested resources for this assessment. Note that Chapter 3 of the Sociology: The Essentials textbook provides useful background information, including details about the scientific method and the steps involved in sociological research.
Read the scenarios below:
Scenario 1: Jessica is a sociologist who studies culture in the workplace at Company Y. She is designing a research study to get a better understanding of differences in productivity between mixed-gender teams and teams whose members are of the same gender.
Scenario 2: There is growing concern over the issue of bullying in the local school district. Julius, who works in the school administration office, has been asked to design a research study to identify if the strict school policies (that some students and parents view as unfair) may be contributing to the increase of bullying.
For each scenario, address the following questions in essay form. Organize your paper with a heading for Scenario 1 and a heading for Scenario 2.
Develop a research question for each research scenario.
For each scenario, provide a clear research question that captures what the researchers (Jessica and Julius) are studying.
Explain how each researcher should use the remaining steps of the sociological research process to answer the research question.
For each step of the sociological research process, explain what the researcher should do to achieve the goal of that particular step. For example, during the data collection process, Julius might gather information about school policies; conduct interviews with students, parents, and teachers; and review data on school incidents reported to teachers or principals.
Be sure to address all four steps that follow the development of a research question: (1) research design and literature review, (2) data collection, (3) data analysis, and (4) conclusion.
Explain how each researcher can use the study results to inform decision making.
Discuss how both researchers can use the results of their research to make decisions. For example, how might Jessica use the findings from her research to improve organizational culture, collaboration, and productivity in her workplace? Similarly, how might Julius use the findings from his study to propose and develop effective bullying policies?
Be sure to write in a well-organized and concise manner that adheres to the rules of grammar, usage, and mechanics.
Additional Requirements
Your Word document submission should meet the following requirements:
Written communication: Written communication should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
Citations: Include both in-text citations and a references list of your sources. Review Evidence and APA for more information on how to cite your sources.
Number of References: Citing at least one course resource is required. Any additional sources are optional.
Length: 3–4 double-spaced pages of content in addition to the title page and reference page.
Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
Review the assessment scoring guide for details on how your assessment will be graded.
Competencies Measured
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and scoring guide criteria:
Competency 1: Demonstrate how scientific methods or sociological principles are used to study society.
Develop a research question for each scenario.
Explain how each researcher could use the remaining steps of the sociological research process to answer each research question.
Explain how each researcher can use the study results to inform decision making.
Competency 4: Address assignment purpose in a well-organized manner, incorporating appropriate evidence and tone in grammatically sound sentences.
Write in a well-organized and concise manner that adheres to the rules of grammar, usage, and mechanics.
SCORING GUIDE
Literary Analysis on M. Butterfly, Los Vendidos, and/or Merchant of Venice
It should be a 4-6 page double-spaced, word-processed literary analysis on a given topic in regard to the drama unit. A few suggested paper topics are posted below; however, again, I highly encourage students to develop a topic of their own. Submit the essay through CANVAS in ASSIGNMENTS. Late essays will not be graded as the assignment board will lock and grades are due shortly thereafter. Send it as an attachment and label the essay document file as such—LastNameEssay3.docx (example: LeongEssay3.docx). Please label the document file correctly.
Please refer to early memos on Essay 1 & 2 for information about the format and structure. Additionally, refer to the MLA Handbook and Trimble’s Writing with Style. Remember to take a critical outlook on the readings and use your best writing strategies to make sure the essay and paragraphs are well organized and fully developed. State an appropriate thesis with significance and topic sentences that develop and argue it. Support the ideas with textual details from the readings. And develop the significance throughout the body paragraphs. Don’t forget to entice and invite the reader into the discussion with a sound introduction and ease the reader out with a conclusion that wraps up the ideas. Please review the lectures in the weekly modules on “Writing a Literary Analysis” (4.3A), “Thesis Statements” (4.3C), and the supplementary handouts (4.3B, D, & E). The essay is worth 200 points; 20% of the total course grade.
To help develop and focus the essay, here are some suggested topics:
1. Discuss the parody and parallelism between M. Butterfly and Madame Butterfly. In essence, how does Puccini’s Madame Butterfly function in the play M. Butterfly? Its purpose?
2. Review the topic of stereotypes in “Los Vendidos, M. Butterfly and The Merchant of Venice, and compare and contrast the influences of race, class and gender on the characters.
3. Discuss the sexual, racial, social and political message M. Butterfly conveys and compare them to “Los Vendidos.” In the discussion, explain how you might adapt the plays to fit other groups.
4. How is the comedy of M. Butterfly similar or different to/from the comedy of another play you’ve read and studied (e.g. Shakespeare’s comedies).
5. Explore the satire and comedy in “Los Vendidos.” Why is it or is not effective in conveying Valdez’s messages of the actos?
6. Throughout the last unit of study on drama, we have been reading a variety of perspective and authors that comprise America. Reflecting on the plays and online discussions, we’ve talked about differences each provides in enabling us to better grasp a definition of what it means to be American and live in this country. And, through these differences, the overriding emerging theme is that we are much more similar than different, although we have different backgrounds, cultures, religions, languages, traditions and ethnicities. In essence, we have explored how we can better understand each other. Reviewing and thinking about the plays, choose ONE play studied and write a literate, well-organized essay on the following prompt, illustrating points with examples and details drawn from the readings.
Prompt: Since the greatness of the United States depends partly on its respect for diversity, the growing problem of intolerance to the differences of others cannot be ignored. Explain how people with different backgrounds and attitudes can learn to get along and respect each other.
7. As we’ve read literature, we have embarked on the investigation of literary elements in specific pieces, and how they’ve helped to gain a better understanding into the readings. Using the required plays for study, analyze and discuss selected elements of fiction. Determine the artistic purpose of the work and how well the author uses any of the literary elements to enhance or achieve that purpose(s).
