economics business

Between 2007 and 2009, the United States experienced a severe financial crisis and economic downturn commonly known as the Great Recession. Starting in 2006, housing values fell 30%, causing losses in mortgage-backed securities for families and financial institutions. The recession was marked by a drop in aggregate demand that caused a decline in GDP and an increase in unemployment.
In your initial post, draw or find an example of an aggregate demand and aggregate supply (AD/AS) model that illustrates the general trends of the U.S. economy during the Great Recession. (The example may be from your own research ) In addition to your image, provide a response to the following:
How did the AD/AS equilibrium change over time? Support your claims by referring to your AD/AS model.
Select an economic factor (GDP, unemployment, price level) and explain what impact any shifts in AD or AS (or both) had on your chosen factor.

FENCES by August Wilson

Read the directions carefully. Your essay needs to use Fences as the primary source and at least 2 but no more than 4 of the secondary sources included at the end of this document.
WRITING ASSIGNMENT based on Fences, by August Wilson
Directions:
1. You must use quotations effectively and accurately to support your claims.
2. You must frame quotations, transition between ideas and paragraphs, disagree or agree with secondary sources, etc. We worked on this throughout the semester. Look back especially on your first few weeks of work and notes and of course, I will be present on a drafting day to help.
3. No online research or consultation is permitted unless you run it by me a week before the assignment is due. All of the secondary sources you can choose from are listed them, also, at the end of this assignment. You must use at least 2 and no more than 4 references or quotations from these sources to help support and develop your claims.
4. Remember to proofread and edit carefully, as sloppy, avoidable errors and/or unclear sentences will significantly lower your grade if not cause you to fail.
5. The essay should be double-spaced throughout, and no additional space should be left between paragraphs.
6. All essays need a title that reflects the main idea and thesis of your essay.
7. Your essay must of course use quotations and details from both the primary and secondary texts to support your thesis and develop your examples.
8. The required length is 4 (full)- 6 pages, not including your Works Cited page.
9. Remember that this essay is about the text of the play, not the film.
Writing Prompt:
Fences is a play about both figurative and literal fences. Basically, your assignment is to write an essay about the fences in Fences.
This is not a list, but an exploration of fences as symbols, metaphors and themes in the play. You do not have to include every fence you think of. Pick and choose your strongest ideas.
Describe and analyze different types of fences in the play and how they illuminate different themes (of betrayal, loyalty, trust, relationships between fathers and sons, a woman’s relationship to her own identity, dreams and idealism, etc.). You want to write a thesis stating in your own words that there is a variety of fences in the play and they figure importantly into the power (or drama or themes etc) of the text. You want to spend the essay explaining what the different fences are and how they create and/or affect the themes of the play.
Possibilities for your discussion include but are not limited to:
· The literal fence that Troy builds, as per Rose’s request, throughout the play and why she wants that fence (according to the text!)
· Fences between fathers and sons
· Fences between African-Americans especially regarding their attitudes about racism and discrimination
· Fences that characters build around themselves
· Fences that characters tear down
Be sure to address a) who builds each fence; b) how each fence is built; c) the effect each fence has on the characters, themes and plot
Remember NOT to oversimplify. As we have discussed in class, Troy Maxson is many things at one—a hero, a villain and a tragic figure. He both loves and damages the people in his life. Acknowledge in your essay that these are all complex characters. We can analyze them, but we cannot reduce them to a single word or definition.

Frederick Douglass’ Interpretation of American Identity in His Speech “What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?”

– Main questions to be answered: Can an American citizen form a proud patriotic identity while the imbedded American Hypocricy is upheld? Should the Fourth of July be celebrated at all, and is Juneteenth the answer to F.Douglass questions in his speech?
-Since this speech seems to uphold most of its arguments made about the hypocricy of “celebrating being American”, the analysis of the speech should provide an answer to if the Fourth of July should still be celebrated.
– Examine Frederick Douglass’ definition of American identity by navigating through his struggle between his acknowledgement of American ideals and his exclusion from American society. Base this examination on the speech: What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?”
– short overview of F.Douglass
– summary of speech and short overview of rhetorical devices used in the speech:” What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?” –> What does it mean to be Amreican according to the speech. Focus on his use of anamnesis as a device. Concluding that being the best version of an Americancan only mean being educated enough.
– Show how the speech serves as an example, why it is basically impossible to identify as an American guilt-free, as slavery was never abolished like Douglass hoped, but it was changed into systemic racism.
– Show how his speech is the example for identifying oneself as American comes with certain difficulties if the groundwork (e.g.Declariation of idenpendence,Constitution) is not interpretetd correctly. hence education, makes oneself the ideal American. Hence his use of anamnesis.

BIBLICAL TIME MANAGEMENT PAPER ASSIGNMENT

The life of Jesus includes examples of the Son of God practicing proper time management. Jesus
demonstrates practical behaviors that can be modeled in everyday life. In order to avoid being
unrealistic about time management (because no one is able to practice time management
perfectly), you will interact with the expertise of the author and then articulate how Jesus
demonstrates proper time management. In your conclusion you can discuss how you can learn
from Jesus in order to put in to practice some helpful ways to make the most of your time. This
paper should avoid a list of “do’s and dont’s” and allow for students to contemplate, although
realistically it is impossible to be perfect, Jesus’ life as the ideal that we can strive to abide in
through the power of the Spirit.
INSTRUCTIONS
Your paper needs to be a 1,000 – 1,500 word paper. Each paper must follow current Turabian
guidelines. You are expected to interact with all of the reading and cite properly according to
guidelines. From the reading in MacDonald in Chapter 6, you are able to identify 3 lessons to be
learned about how Christ managed his time. Secondly, MacDonald (Chapter 7) describes 4 laws
of unmanaged time. This paper must identify and explain each of the 4 laws of unmanaged time
and how the example of Christ can be followed in order to better manage time as a leader. Make
sure that your paper moves from the theoretical to a real-world application.

MIDDLESEX by Jeffery Euginides

You need to pick a critical lens (as many as 3) to view MIDDLESEX from and find quotes that relate to the lens and analyse them, (this should come to 10 pages, double spaced, jot notes allowed and including quotes [so it isn’t actually 10 pages of writing]) . Then you will need to include 3 secondary sources with a one-page justification of each source. Since this is a grade 12U course the writing does not have to be too advanced the only requirement is that there can be NO PLAGIARISM because my teacher will catch it.
I will attach a file with the complete instructions for the assignment along with the rubric. Do not worry about the “ISU Essay” part of the file because that needs to be completed at a later date. If this is completed correctly and is plagiarism-free, I will be willing to pay you up to $150 for the essay part of this project. Thanks
