Week 8 Assignment – System Implementation
Overview
This is the fourth in a series of five sequential assignments (the course project) in which you continue to act as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of a hypothetical, e-commerce start-up company of your design.
You have been working on delivering an information technology project plan in anticipation of the company relocating to a new facility.
In the first course project deliverable, you created a project plan inception document and supporting Gantt chart.
In the second course project deliverable, you developed the business requirements to be incorporated into the information systems design you are creating. You also updated your original supporting Gantt chart based on major and minor tasks identified in the business requirements document.
In the third course project deliverable, you created an infrastructure design that considered the key elements of software, hardware, security, and business process flow for your e-commerce startup company. Once again, you updated your supporting Gantt chart to reflect the major and minor tasks uncovered while developing the infrastructure design.
This fourth course project deliverable focuses on the project’s construction phase. In this assignment, you will develop the system implementation plan document. This document will include the engineering, furnishing, and installation (EFI) technical aspects of your e-commerce company’s information systems infrastructure. This assignment consists of two parts:
Part 1: System Implementation Document
You will create an 8–10 page system implementation document that details the engineering, furnishing, and installation (EFI) technical aspects of your e-commerce company’s information systems infrastructure.
Part 2: Updated Gantt Chart
You will use Microsoft Project to once again update the supporting project Gantt chart begun in your first course project deliverable.
You are not creating a new Gantt chart, only updating the one you created in the previous assignment with the major and minor tasks uncovered while creating the system implementation document.
Note:
You are to create or assume all necessary assumptions to successfully complete this assignment.
You must submit both parts as separate files to the assignment area. Label each file name according to the appropriate part.
Part 1: System Implementation Document
You are to write an 8–10 page system implementation document in which you:
Use graphics tools to design the logical and physical layout of the planned e-commerce company’s information systems.
Use graphics tools to illustrate the possible placement of key infrastructure elements with external connectivity (Internet) and internal connectivity (firewalls, LAN).
Develop the bill of materials and tabulate it in a spreadsheet to include item, description, model number, and approximate cost.
Document the methodology and process to include the engineering, furnishing, and installation of the identified inventory.
Use three sources to support your writing. (Choose sources that are credible, relevant, and appropriate. Cite each source listed on your source page at least one time within your assignment. Access the library or review library guides for help with research, writing, and citation.)
Part 2: Updated Gantt Chart
Use Microsoft Project to:
Update the previously created Gantt chart with the major and minor tasks identified in the system implementation document.

Based on the novel alone, evaluate the relationship between Mr. and Mrs. Bennet and compare it with the relationship that Elizabeth and Darcy have formed by the end of the novel (which predicts happy marriage in their future). Discuss the lack of virtue in the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet. What virtues, such as respect, charity, humility, and understanding, do they lack? Note a similar pattern in the beginning of Elizabeth and Darcy’s relationship, but consider how each of them works to gain virtue and overcome faults. What virtues have Darcy and Elizabeth gained and how? How does this predict their future marital happiness? You may use the following thesis statement if you choose: Jane Austen uses her characters Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, Elizabeth, and Mr. Darcy to show that virtue is essential in the happiness of a marriage, and that without it, a relationship will break down.
3. How does Austen show that pride is a nemesis of intelligent people and a stumbling-block to their happiness?
Identify the difference between dignity and improper pride as discussed by Elizabeth and Darcy at various points in the novel. Analyze the way in which pride causes both Elizabeth and Darcy to make bad decisions, despite their generally intelligent and virtuous behavior. Consider how these decisions lead to enormous amounts of unhappiness not only for themselves, but also for their family members and friends. Discuss the way in which Elizabeth and Darcy each overcome their own pride, and how their newfound humility restores order and happiness in their lives and the lives of those around them. You may use the following thesis statement if you choose: Through her characters Elizabeth and Darcy, Jane Austen makes a study of pride, in which she shows how pride causes the most intelligent people to err, and consequently, how it causes misery and suffering which can be undone only by a restoration of proper humility.

Give an in-depth analysis of your essay topic, proving your answer with sufficient and precise details from the text, including examples of attitudes, conversations, and events, as well as descriptions. Be sure to write in 3rd person, and avoid plot summary, which is a simple re-telling of the chronological events in the story.

“Robinson Crusoe journeys in his attitude toward Divine Providence from a rebellion against what he perceives as a disinterested authority early on, to an initial repentance and conversion through the vision-dream, and finally, to an active and mature faith in a loving God, Who protects and guides all things, by the end of his stay on the island.”

Outline
The Introduction: The introductory paragraph should supply a definition of Providence molded on the discussion presented above. In light of this definition, further comment should be made concerning Crusoe’s understanding of Providence or his attitude toward Providence, how that changes from rebellion against what Crusoe perceives as punishment to repentance for pride and selfishness to gratitude for the love of a Heavenly Father which sustains him. The last sentence should be the provided thesis statement.

Body Paragraph #1 should begin with a topic sentence that includes an evaluation of Robinson Crusoe’s relationship with God/attitude toward or about Providence before Crusoe experiences the vision-dream. Note Crusoe’s rebellious attitude and his inability to see Providence as a manifestation of God’s love. Rather, for Crusoe, Providence seems to be a punishing force, the justice of God without His mercy.

II. Body Paragraph #2 should begin with a topic sentence that conveys Crusoe’s developing understanding of Divine Providence as particularly inspired by the vision-dream, which causes him to repent.
A. Immediately after the dream
1. How the terror of his dream affects Crusoe’s thoughts about God and his behavior toward God
2. Crusoe’s new view of Providence based on respect and repentance
B. How the new attitude continues to grow toward love and gratitude as time goes on after the dream, and the ways in which it is still not complete

III. Body Paragraph #3 should begin with a topic sentence showing how Crusoe’s reaction to the mutineers and their deposed captain reveals an understanding of Divine Providence that is now based on love and trust, and which has inspired Crusoe’s complete abandonment to the direction of Providence, the loving plan of God.

The paragraph should summarize Crusoe’s attitude toward Providence as seen at the end of the stay on the island and after his departure, and reflect upon the spiritual journey Crusoe has made over the course of the story. What does Crusoe now believe about Divine Providence in general, and especially in the events of his own life? Upon what has Crusoe’s belief finally come to rest, as opposed to the fear that began his journey in faith? How does Crusoe’s matured faith continue to manifest itself in his thoughts and actions after he leaves the island?

Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis
On the surface, this appears to be a science fiction story, which in many ways it is. However, unlike most science fiction, Out of the Silent Planet has an important and inspiring message. The book follows the adventures of an unlikely hero, Dr. Ransom, who is kidnapped and taken to Mars by a mad scientist. During Ransom’s adventures, we see all sorts of Christian symbolism and references, as the battle between good and evil moves on with suspense. Ultimately, there is a level of thought and a level of spiritual value which makes the book of lasting interest.

Assignment A – Write a five-paragraph character sketch (at least 500 words) on the main character. The five paragraphs should be an introduction ending in a thesis statement, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. In your thesis statement, state three distinct character traits. Discuss each separate trait in its own body paragraph. Start each body paragraph with a topic sentence, stating the trait to be covered, and develop or “prove” the trait with at least three specific examples from the story. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Jane Eyre is the story of an orphan girl, penniless and plain, but full of courage and spirit. After enduring years of hardship, first at the hands of an aunt who has no use for her, and then in a boarding school where the headmaster mistreats all the girls, she manages to secure a position as a governess in the household of Mr. Rochester. Over time, they fall very deeply in love, but before they can be married, a terrible secret is revealed, and Jane finds that to save both their souls, she must run away. Jane learns to make her way again, but it is a struggle to find her place and keep her self-respect and principles in a society that has little regard for her.
