IBM Financial Statement Analysis

In order to determine if you can recommend buying or selling a stock, you first must understand how the company has performed recently. Would you want to invest in a company that has had negative earnings for the past 3 years? What about a company that has increased the amount of debt on its balance sheet? Or, would you prefer to invest in a company that has had consistent increases in revenues or net earnings over the past 3 years? As the equity analyst, your first task would be to determine the evidence of patterns in the recent financial performance. The financial analysis provides significant insight into the company’s strengths and weaknesses.
To fully understand a company’s financial performance, you cannot “evaluate performance using numbers alone. This level of analysis does not involve an understanding of the cause of performance…an analyst must look beyond the numbers” (Hickman et al., 2013, Section 11.3, para. 7). In the real world, an analyst spends extensive time and effort researching the business strategy, operations, marketing, and other elements that have contributed to this financial performance. For this class, you will limit your investigation of the company to the historical financial analysis, ratio and competitive analysis, and the valuation of the stock. This Week 1 assignment will become Section 1 of the Week 5 final project.

Read the article by Wagner and Dahnke (2015) entitled “Nursing Ethics and Disaster Triage: Applying Utilitarian Theory.” Other than the ethical principles of autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, and justice addressed in the article, what other values and principles should have guided decision-making in the disaster triage? Who was socially responsible for avoiding harm to the patients of New Orleans Memorial Hospital?

1. Address the depiction of the “war hero” in Madsen’s “Flame and Citron,” Sandburg & Ronning’s “Max Manus,” or both.
In times of war, there are many that take up the role of being a resistance fighter but rarely do they become widely known and talked about. Both the film Flame and Citron and Max Manus depict the life and heroism of war heroes, Bent Faurschou-Hviid and Jorgen Haagen Schmith, and Max Manus, respectively. While both have similarities with them being about Danish resistance fighters, their stories differ greatly.
The 2008 historical drama film, Flame and Citron, by Ole Christian Madsen, tells the fictionalized account of two Danish resistance fighters nicknamed Flammen and Citronen. Flammen and Citronen are part of the Holger Danske resistance group and are tasked with killing Danish Nazi officials and collaborators. According to Ole Christian Madsen, the film try to depict “war hero” as being mainly just a casualty of war, a rather complicated experienced that is beyond the scope of good versus evil dichotomy. Through the themes of love and betrayal, the film essentially present Flammen and Citronen as war heroes, specifically martyrs of the Danish resistance. The film spends a good amount of time showing Flammen and Citronen carry out orders assigned to them while they navigate the aspects of relationships. For Flammen, he deals with the possibility of being with possible double agent, Ketty Selmer, while Citronen have to navigate the diminishing relationship with his wife. By presenting the two characters dealing with their own relationships, the film depict the two “war hero” as regular people that still experiences the livelihood of falling in love and being heartbroken, rather than just soldiers of the war. The ending scenes are significant such that they depict these war heroes as martyrs. Here, we see Flammen last breath before he takes the cyanide pill and Citronen fighting until the end before being shot down. While the film exaggerates the death of the two resistance fighters, it greatly present “war hero” as a greater entity, martyrs willing to go the distance for freedom.
The 2008 Norwegian biographical war film, Max Manus: Man of War, narrates the real events of Norwegian resistance fighter Max Manus. Initially, together with the Norwegian resistance, Max Manus produced illegal propaganda. After escaping arrest, he received training in sabotage and disinformation. With this training, Max began taking on mission to attack German supply ships. Throughout the film, we see Max slowly loses many of his friends and taking on the emotional burden that comes with it. Compared to Flame and Citron, Max Manus depicts war hero as casualty of the war. We see this in the film through Max as he slowly succumb to the effects of the war, specifically in the final few scenes. In one of these scenes, Tikken confronts Max to which he is curled on the couch with alcohol surrounding him. Max then exclaim to Tikken that due to the war, he is in a poor state with no jobs. In another scene, Max also meets Fehmer, former Gestapo Chief, who contributed to many of his friends’ death. In this scene, Max realizes that everyone is just a victim of war. This scene is powerful such that a war hero like Max Manus cannot escape the reality and effects of war.

Are standardized test culturally relevant?

Chapter 1 and 2 stay the same, chapter 5 needs to become chapter 3 (all 3 chapters need to be integrated into one another but kept separate and labeled chapters 1, 2, and 3). Chapter 3 needs to become the conclusion with all the additions of chapter 4 and needs to be turned into proposed proposal format. Chapter 4 becomes a document review making an argument on the cultural relevancy of standardized tests. All information should evolve around South Dakota high schools and teachers. The Thesis has already gone under review so please note the proposed changes and questions

These 3 resources need to be added to chapter 4 to help make the argument against the cultural relevancy of
standardized testing.
