develop a 3–5 page workplace harassment policy AND create an 8–12 slide PowerPoint presentation with speaker’s notes to present the new policy

Assignment Overview
In this assignment, you will develop a 3–5 page workplace harassment policy for either Java Corp (Fictional Company) or an organization with which you are familiar. Also, create an 8–12 slide PowerPoint presentation with speaker’s notes to present the new policy and to support it with legal and strategic rationale for the selected organization’s upper management.

Assignment EMPLOYMENT LAW
Scenario
For this assignment, choose either option 1 or 2. You do not need to do both. You will apply one of these scenarios in the instructions below. Both options will be graded using the same scoring guide.

Option 1
You are the new HR manager for Java Corp. The company has just lost a sexual harassment lawsuit and damages include back pay, front pay, punitive damages, and attorney’s fees. The plaintiff, Ms. Stapel, was a female manager who had a consensual sexual relationship with her male boss, Mr. Rowe. Both moved up in title and responsibility over the past 5 years. After the relationship ended, Mr. Rowe made several offensive comments to co-workers about Ms. Stapel, without her knowledge. Later, a number of other employees, who reported to Mr. Rowe, made offensive sexual comments directly to Ms. Stapel.

The company has a harassment policy but only referred someone who felt harassed to their immediate supervisor and provided no other avenues of complaint. Your first project for Java Corp is to create a formal policy that will protect the employees, the organization, and all stakeholders. You will also prepare a PowerPoint that could be used as a training tool for new employees on the importance of following anti-harassment policies.

Option 2
Choose an organization to use for this assignment. It can be where you are currently employed or a company with which you are familiar. It must be an organization that is researchable, as you will need to gather and analyze information to complete the assignment. You may use the same organization you selected for previous assignments.
If you choose the organization where you are currently employed, please keep in mind that the analyses you make must be based on facts that can be documented rather than your personal opinion as an employee. Think about a situation in which an employee was sexually harassed at work. Reflect on what the organization did well and what the organization did wrong.
Research the sexual and work harassment policies of the chosen organization to further assess if the situation was handled properly.

Based on your research of sexual harassment and other forms of unlawful workplace harassment, complete the following.
In a Word document, develop an anti-harassment workplace policy 3-5 pages long that includes the following components:
Objective.
Prohibited conduct under this policy, including discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, and retaliation.
Confidentiality.
Complaint procedure.
Employee acknowledgment of policy.
Prepare a PowerPoint Presentation for upper management training. In your presentation:
Explain the legal basis for protecting employees from harassment with supporting laws or regulations.
Describe different types of sexual harassment found in the workplace. This can include, but not limited to, quid pro quo and hostile work environment.
Explain other types of harassment, outside of sexual harassment, to consider in a workplace policy.
Articulate how an organization can be at risk of harassment claims and how they can best legally protect themselves.
Summarize reporting and investigation procedures. Specifically, discuss how the issue or complaint is brought to HR’s attention, who is involved in the investigation, how the communication process works with those involved.
Summarize how the anti-harassment policy should be communicated to employees.
Analyze organizational benefits realized having a sound anti-harassment policy in place. Consider company reputation, employee morale, retention, productivity, and the like.
Additional Requirements
Policy
This part of your assignment should also meet the following requirements:
Length: 3–5 pages. Strive to be as detailed as possible in addressing each of the policy’s components above.
Written communication: Communicate in a manner that is scholarly and professional. Your writing should be:
Concise and logically organized.
Free of errors in grammar and mechanics.
Resources: If you use a source in the text of your policy, you need to reference it. The last page of your policy should be your reference list. Format all citations and references in accordance with current APA guidelines. Refer to the Evidence and APA Campus page for guidance.
PowerPoint Presentation
This part of your assignment should also meet the following requirements:
Audience: Create a presentation suitable for the upper management of your selected organization.
Length: 8–12 slides, including speaker’s notes, a title slide, and a reference slide.
Validation and support: Use a minimum of seven relevant and credible scholarly or professional resources such as the Wall Street Journal to support your work.
APA format: Format all citations and references in accordance with current APA guidelines.
Complexity: Do not get hung up on adding too many graphics, audio, or video. Select a PowerPoint template appropriate for a professional presentation. Please make sure the background color you choose does not interfere with the font selection and that it is easy to read. Do not overbuild your slides; information that supports and expands on what you say should appear as speaker’s or presenter’s notes.

Leader Development

For this 3-4 page assessment, you will analyze a case study about a leader’s situation and address opportunities for professional development for this leader.

Introduction
For this assessment, you will analyze a case study about a leader’s situation in which some changes have happened, and address opportunities for professional development for this leader.
Leaders must possess knowledge and practice ethical leadership to be effective in a global marketplace. Leading can involve managing people, managing change, and managing the strategic direction of the organization. All of these areas provide developmental opportunities and chances for growth.
There are a number of different ways for people to develop as leaders. Most methods include an aspect of learning to capitalize on strengths and eliminate shortcomings (Rath & Conchie, 2009).
Another facet of leader development is the way a leader handles change. Peter Senge and Peter Drucker, two seminal thinkers in the field of leadership, have studied and written about leading for sustainability in times of change. You can listen to Senge and Drucker in the video “Leading in a Time of Change,” listed in the Resources of this assessment, to learn more about the concepts of leading through change.
In addition to factors for managing change in organizational systems or as new generations enter the workplace, there are also personal or workplace responsibility changes that happen for leaders that can impact their leadership performance. Some of these factors include life changes, family responsibilities, career changes, and so on. These changes can create competing commitments for a leader’s time and energy. Change affects a leader’s abilities to manage themselves, their energy, and their time.
Many workplace settings demand a lot, and leaders may find themselves working long hours, experiencing challenges to sustaining their energy (Schwartz, 2010). Work demands can result in physical, mental, and emotional strain. Alternatively, there are important approaches to time management, energy management, work-life balance, delegation, and other approaches to help develop the leaders’ capacity to rise to intense challenges.
Leaders need to maintain health, energy, and wellness when dealing with new situations that may seem overwhelming. For example, delegation skills, understanding how to grow into a position, or a time in life that involves greater responsibility are parts of growing as a leader. It is wise for an I-O psychology professional who is coaching or consulting with leaders to stay current on the latest research and practices related to leaders’ health, energy, and wellness so that these aspects can also be maintained.
To deepen your understanding, you are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend, or a member of the business community.
Why is it so important for leaders to manage their time and energy?
What time and energy management strategies are working for you?
How might you enhance your own time and energy for the ways you are leading in your workplace, family, or educational setting?
Based on what you have learned about leadership for sustainability, and considering highlights from the video “Leading in a Time of Change,” discuss the following:
What does it take to be a successful leader of change?
What are specific approaches to change management that you think may be most helpful in a particular situation where you see change happening in your organization?

Qualitative research project

For this first assignment, construct a 5-7 page paper that:

a) details the ethical considerations in embarking upon a qualitative research project;

b) proposes a qualitative project via two well-written research questions (RQ) and 2-3 semi-structured interview questions for each (RQ); and

c) identifies the target populations, as well as any ethical challenges you might expect to encounter where completing such a project is concerned.

Your paper should utilize sound critical thought, liberally refer to and cite course materials, and be written in APA-format (to include a title page, abstract, properly formatted in-text citations and a reference page). Any research topic is acceptable as long as it has an application to psychology and allows you to demonstrate your learning of qualitative research principles taught thus far in the course.

Make sure that you use properly APA formatted subheadings in your work clearly demarcating your introduction, general ethical considerations in qualitative methods, research questions and justification for those questions, your target population, anticipated ethical challenges unique to your study, and finally your conclusion. Remember that the crux of this assignment is about ethics in qualitative research and not an in-depth and detailed research proposal. Therefore, ethics should be the overarching theme throughout your essay.

IMPORTANT: This is only a mock scenario and a hypothetical research proposal. You will NOT be testing these hypotheses/research questions on human subjects in any way.

Ethics in qualitative research

This week we address the ethics of qualitative research, particularly the call to do no harm. Be sure to be specific and illustrate your points with concrete examples. Based on your learning this week in the readings and the content, address the following questions:

What do you see as the primary ethical concerns associated with qualitative methodologies?
How does the ethics code you ascribe to (APA, ACA, or some other) confront these concerns?
Finally, if you were recruited for a qualitative study, what would need to be in place for you to feel comfortable consenting to your participation

Reflection paper( Global village)

The chapters in your textbook have sections titled “Global Village” — read a few of those. They basically pick different media related topics across the globe and analyze it with examples and case studies.
Using those as inspiration, write a “Global Village” section for any mass communication topic/technology of your choice. It is a pretty open-ended informal essay. It can be a selection of a (media) related news item and your commentary on that; or a case study for a relevant media topic and your analysis/critique; or it can be a controversial media/culture issue and your opinion on it along with other insights; or a combination of these. Your submission should include 3-5 references in text and as a separate references page and should be in APA format. ~750 words (excluding the references page).

The literary research paper must be 7-8 pages long, including the Work Cited page.
